Day in the Life of Candy

Someone is celebrating his birthday today. And as a gift, I wrote him a letter because I know; he’s the senti kind of guy. So here it goes…
Pare,
Special day, special day. Pa-cheeseburger ka naman! Kidding! You know I always start with a corny joke. That’s like, a MUST before I start talking to you.
Anyway, whoa! You’re a year older again. I can’t believe it. It was just like yesterday when I greeted you a very happy 22nd birthday (wait, 22 or 23? Peace!)And now, you’re already 40 (kidding ulit!) But regardless of the age, you still look 18 to me. Promise. (Uuuy, natuwa! Haha!)
I don’t know if you feel this, but I think the two of us spent most of our college years together that we can already enumerate the things that have happened and changed during the past couple of years—your relationships, my “almost” relationship, your Math grades which are always waaaay better than mine, and your bag and my bag which are always, always in gubat mode! And there are actually a lot more, a lot more that I can not say because we promised that those things are going to be just between you and me.
Maybe, that’s the reason why we’re a good tandem. Because we can keep each other’s secret. Because, no matter how hard some people try to keep us apart, we always end up being together—not as a couple—but as partners in crime. And I will always be grateful for that.

If you’ll ask me who my favorite teacher is, I probably would have a hard time giving you an answer. I love all my teachers and professors and giving you just one name would be unfair.
But if you’d ask me about who I’ll remember the most or who’s the most influential, I’d only say one name.
She’s my professor in three major subjects and she’s the coolest among all my professors. Maybe because she’s the youngest…or maybe because she’s the most animated. She makes us all laugh because of her comments. Our favorite? “Uy, green, ang cute no?” (Emphasis on the cute). So funny.

After my friends and I experienced hell week in school, everyone just thought of unwinding and relaxing, stepping out of the seriously busy world of college life and going somewhere, uhm, somewhere far from it.
And so, we drove off to that place.
Last Monday, my friends and I went swimming. It was an out-of-the-blue call. None of us planned it because none of us thought that we could still fit it in our very hectic schedule. It was just like “Tara, swimming tayo” and everyone just said “Sigeee!” I guess we all just wanted to escape for a while and have fun.

Hi, Candy girls.
Not a good time, right? I know. We’ve all been busy with school especially the seniors with their NCAE. It has been awful week, really. I needed to catch up with the lessons that I missed for being absent and I tell you, when you miss an hour in Math class… it’s like missing a whole week. So I sort of missed six weeks because I have six Math subjects. Right, kill me, kill me now!
And during times like this, when I’m feeling stressed and my mind just can’t seem to think straight because of all the pressure (and numbers and operations in Math, geez) what I do is I read other people’s blogs. For one, because reading nice blogs just appeals to me and two… because, um, it’s sort of good to know that other people are more stressed than me.
So here are the blogs that I frequently visit.
Blissful Chanting – She writes looong posts but because what she’s saying is interesting, reading them is really not a problem
Peace, Love and Sandra – Sandra (yes, the Council member) writes witty posts. She is super! She is awesome… and um, one of her friends commented that she’s the next God. Haha!
Kiss the Stars with me – XTY takes really nice pictures. I think her favorite subject is cats because there are a lot of pictures of cats in her blog.
And last but not the least…
Isparkleen – Marilyn blogs about her crushes, her raves, her current favorites… almost everything. I like the blog because it’s simple but it’s worth reading.
So, there.
How about you Candy girls, name the sites that you frequent and we might just blog about it.
Reading your blog,
Mheems

I am still sick and because I was really stubborn to go to school despite my condition (please tell my professors to give me a “model student” award when I go back to school) , I got sicker, which means that right now, I am at home doing nothing besides bumming and sleeping and bumming and sleeping. Did I mention bumming? And sleeping?
Okay. Now you can say that I am sick.
So, yeah. I’ve been home for six days straight. From Friday (holiday) up to this day, Wednesday. And I must say that when you’re used to doing so many things, having nothing to do gets pretty much a drag.
So what did I do for six straight days? Read on…
- I counted the flowers in my mom’s little garden. Grouped them and then computed for the possibility of picking 2 reds and 2 pinks. That’s statistics. Sorry, I major in Math.
- Watched as many chick flicks as I can. Start spelling swollen eyes.
- When I couldn’t sleep since my days were spent sleeping, I imagined my crushes like I would imagine a sheep jumping from left to right. You know that usual thing you do when you can not sleep… like that. It was fun, actually. The only problem was, imagining them like that, made sleeping even harder
- I tutored my little cousin. It was quite difficult since we would always end up laughing.
- Filled two sheets of yellow paper with my signature. Practice makes perfect right. If I’m going to be a teacher, my signature will be printed on every kid’s notebook so it has to be, uhm, readable.
- Played Crazy Kart. Ibang trip to, sakay na!
- Played pen pen de sarapen with two of my nephews. I can’t believe that I didn’t play that game when I was younger. It was so much fun!
- Read my daddy’s old books. Fourth of July, Secret and Oliver’s story. I love them all. I might actually ask my mom to give those books to me. I am just looking forward to reading all of them.
So there you go, how about you, Candy girls? What are the things that you do when you have nothing to do?
Doing something silly, yet, again,
Mheems
