In addition to the birthday celebrants this November, (Ate Jennie, Ate Macy, Ate Marla and Mheems’ mom), three of my loved ones will also turn a year older this month.

My best friend Althea Kristine Eleazar who we fondly call Diday/Didz, will celebrate her birthday on the 16th. Didz is my psychic best friend. Haha! Well, she knows me too well. Recently, I texted her that I was facing a big problem in school, I didn’t tell her I cried all night and that I wanted the world to eat me already. (yes, my problem was that heavy!) But she texted me which started with “Bey! Tama na iyak ha? Pagppray natin na maayos na yan! Love you bey!” I felt better somehow knowing that she is there to support me and pray for me.

Didz, Happy happy birthday! I wish all your wishes would come true. I’m so happy that you found the guy who you love dearly but most importantly, who loves you completely. Plus, he loves us, your friends, too! Thanks for bringing me home one time, Qiel! Hehe! Didz, Thank you so much for everything. I know we haven’t seen each other for a while already, but despite our busy schedules and loads of school work, we both know that we have each other’s back. I miss and love you, Didz. One thing I really appreciate in our friendship is the fact that we are very open to one another and we randomly send thoughtful messages stating how much we value our friendship and how much we miss and love each other. I love you, Diday!

One MOMent

She cares better than any nurse, teaches better than any professor, and loves better than any lover. She wakes me up in the morning, cooks my breakfast and brings me to school every single day without complaining. She hugs me the tightest when I’m in my lowest and cheers the loudest when I’m at my, well, highest. She’s my biggest fan and my biggest critic. She grounds me for missed curfews and gives me “penalties” for breaking rules. But she gives me “incentives” for a job well done.

I cannot say how happy and grateful I am for being your daughter. And though, I am not a perfect daughter, I want you to know that I am doing my best to be an obedient and loving one.

For that and everything in between, I love you Mom. Happy birthday!

My Miracle Mother

Mom, I look at you
and see a walking miracle.
Your unfailing love without limit,
your ability to soothe my every hurt,
the way you are on duty, unselfishly,
every hour, every day,
makes me so grateful
that I am yours, and you are mine.
With open arms and open heart,
with enduring patience and inner strength,
you gave so much for me,
sometimes at your expense.
You are my teacher,
my comforter, my encourager,
appreciating all, forgiving all.
Sometimes I took you for granted, Mom,
but I don’t now, and I never will again.
I know that everything I am today
relates to you and your loving care.
I gaze in wonder
as I watch you being you—
my miracle, my mother.

Mommy’s not so little angel,
Mheems :)

P.S: Happy birthday to ate Macy and ate Marla too!

Hey, Candy girls!

Last semester, I was really swamped with school work-papers, productions and exams. I’m glad I survived last semester’s challenges and I only have one more sem to go before I graduate! Woohoo!

Anyway, I’d like to share with you a video that I worked hard for my Audio Visual Production (AVP) Subject last sem. Well, I didn’t do it alone since a production requires a group of people; I had great group mates/crew members for this project. (Names are present on the credits of the video.) AVP really honed our skills in pre-production, production and post production per se because we had different tasks for different productions. For instance, I was the director for a music video, a director of photography (camera person) for a documentary, producer for short narrative and an editor for the corporate video.  I can truly say that AVP trained us to be all-around production people! I’d love to share with you all our works, but for now I’ll show you our corporate video.

A Week of Fun

I’m sure a lot of you are up and about, putting on your school uniform and polished shoes, and checking up on lost (emphasis on lost) homework. I say the worst part of sembreak is the Sunday before you head for school, don’t you think? But anyway, gear up girls! It’s a new week! You never know what to expect. ;)

As for me, I still have a week to go before school officially starts so I am quite guilty of cramming every activity in my last week! Aside from the occasional movie, music, and TV show marathon, I’ve sought refuge in the company of my high school friends. The other day we went to The Fort to check out my friend’s condo. We were quite the responsible adults when we ate so much pancit canton and potato chips, we were on a total MSG-high afterwards. Wait, I said responsible?! Woops!

Girls, do listen to your parents when they say too much of excess is not good.
