Day in the Life of Candy

Makeup.

Okay, I’ve never been interested in it. I am the type of person who doesn’t bother putting on heavy makeup every day, but I am quite interested in the makeup artistry area. I love blending and applying makeup on others, but not myself. Ironic, isn’t it?

I have been going to mini photoshoots plus frequently visiting a makeup artist to help me during photoshoots. So, my dad suggested that I should venture into the makeup artist industry—to help cut the costs in hiring a makeup artist! (HAHA!) He told me about several makeup academies though I never enrolled in any classes yet. (School takes up so much of my time.)

When I visited Fully Booked in The Powerplant Mall, I found a good book to help me with some makeup basics. The book is called Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual written by Bobbi Brown herself! The book doesn’t only contain information about applying makeup, but also about skincare! :) This rare find costs about P800. Not a bad price considering all the beauty tips from the internationally renowned makeup artist, Bobbi Brown! :)

But, then again, Candy Girls, just a li’l tip. Don’t apply on so much makeup! You are all so beautiful without it! :) For those girls who apply makeup, don’t forget to wash your face before bed. It will cause skin irritations or outbreaks, if you don’t. ( I don’t apply makeup, but I still wash my face before bedtime. It’ s really good for your skin.)

I am really excited to venture into this field. I think it’s really interesting! For those Candy Girls who want to go into the same track as me, try enrolling in maekup academies, learn from the experts, and brush up by reading from the professionals!

Cheers,
Kim

P.S. I think you are all pretty without any makeup on! :) Happy December,  girls!

They say a wedding is the happiest time in a woman’s life.

I attended 2 weddings this weekend. What can I say? I kept saying “aww” the whole time. Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be married?

Nah, I can’t yet. But, do you hear comments like “Ohh, she’s about to get married soon?” Yes, time flies so fast. I still can’t believe that a few years from now, we’ll be going through another stage of our lives.

I simply can’t imagine that. Living our separately from our parents. Starting your own family. And, going through all those with your “soulmate” or lifetime partner.

Anyway, as the wedding reception program was going on. I developed an interest in wedding photography and videography. I further looked into them when I came back home. Here are a few beautiful shots and videos I found from famous photographers & videographers from Manila.

Oyo and Kristine: http://vimeo.com/18737272

The song used was “Collide” by Howie Day. I think the overall wedding concept was really good.

Mitz and Byron: http://vimeo.com/23949226

“Follow You Down” by the Gin Blossoms. My HS teacher’s wedding video. I just find it so adorable that I had to share.

Yep, we’ll never know who’ll be first. Or who’ll be last. As I said earlier, time flies so fast. The next thing you know, you’re the next to be married! So, just live today. Be young, wild, and free.

P.S.
Best wishes to the 2 newlywed couples! :)  Have fun on your honeymoon.

Cheers,
Kim

Who said? Who said your not perfect? Who said you’re not worth it?

WHO SAID?

That’s right. Who said? Don’t let words bring you down, Candy Girls. Yes, they may affect you. But, don’t let those stand in the way between you and whatever you want to achieve in life.

Were you ever told that you were fat? Ugly? Not good enough?

Well, that’s not how anybody is supposed to be treated. I believe that everyone is beautiful and special in their own ways. Everyone has something that they can do, that others can’t. :)

Who are they to judge or tell you who you are?

Always believe in yourself. Your capabilities. You dreams. Your passion. These are the things that will make you keep moving forward.

Stop saying “I CAN’T,” but instead, “I CAN.”

Ever…

Wanted to dance, but afraid that you can’t execute the steps properly?

Then, go dance.

Wanted to sing, but afraid that you don’t have a great voice?

Then, go sing.

Wanted to try swimming, but afraid that you’ll drown or look hideous in your swimwear?

Then, go swim.

Here’s the thing. No one is stoping you from doing all the things that you wish to do except yourself. Stop thinking about what others would say, and just do it. :)

Like what Katy Perry sung in her hit single “Firework,” You just gotta ignite the light and let it shine. Everyone has that “spark” inside of them waiting to be released into a beautiful firework. So, let it out and burst into beautiful lights. :)

Now, I want you to do this: Look in the mirror everyday and tell yourself, “I am beautiful, smart and fearless.”

You are crazy beautiful, Candy Girl! Don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise!

Cheers,
Kim

Candy Girls, I have a confession to make…

I am, in fact, an alien from the Planet Mars here to invade Earth. ( HAHAHA! NO I AM KIDDING! )

I am NBSB. Or someone who has had No Boyfriend Since Birth. ( Raise your hands up, fellow NBSBs! )

Ever experienced the following? Every Valentine’s Day or Christmas, you would always see couples happily strutting down the malls and streets. Or when it’s a group gathering—all your friends have boyfriends and you’re just sitting there watching them being all cuddly. ( HAHA! Forever Alone? )

Or do you get comments like..“Hey! You’re so pretty. Why don’t you have a boyfriend?” or “You have a great personality! Why don’t you have a boyfriend?”

I really find those reasons wrong. If you’re pretty or have a great personality, it doesn’t mean you automatically have to have a boyfriend. The reasons are far beyond looks and personality. :)

I believe that you need to wait for the right time and right person to come along. I want somebody to love me, for who I am, not for how I look or anything else. I want someone to respect me like how I respect others. I want someone to treat me how I deserve to be treated.  :)

There’s that famous quote that goes, “Girls are like apples. The best ones are at the top of the trees. The boys don’t want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they just get the rotten apples that are on the ground that aren’t as good, but easy. So the apples at the top think there is something wrong with them, when, in reality, they are amazing. They just have to wait for the right boy to come along, the one who’s brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree…”

So true, right?  Hard to get. Hindi yun masama. For me, I just like testing guys to see who are willing to go all the way up that tree just to get me and those who like me far beyond looks. :) Ayoko din yung puro salita, pero walang ginagawa. Because, if you really mean it, you will prove it. And that’s the time I will believe. :)

Look, here’s the thing. I am not afraid of commitment or anything. I am willing to have changes in my life. But, I am afraid that I might make the wrong decision and ending up hurt. That’s why I need time. Time to think. I really don’t want to rush things, because all you need to do is take one step at a time. :) To quote Jordin Sparks’ hit single “One Step At A Time,” take one step at a time. There’s no need to rush. It’s like learning to fly or falling in love. It’s gonna happen and it’s supposed to happen.

To those who wants to get into a relationship now, there are a few things that you should remember.

  1. There’s always someone you can talk to at the end of the day.
  2. You have to plan your life around someone now.
  3. Give and take. Very essential in a relationship. Bawal give lang ng give or take lang ng take. It has to be balanced.
  4. Trust, very important. This is the foundation of a good and healthy relationship.
  5. Understanding each other.
  6. Giving time to each other.

There are probably more pointers, but those are some that I have in mind. Remember, Candy Girls, no need to rush. Take your time. Find out who’s willing to do anything to be with you. :) ‘Cause you’re worth all that.

Also, (All the HP fans would know this) I want a guy who will love me like how Severus Snape loved Lily Potter. Now that’s true love. <3

In the mean time, don’t be sad if you have no special someone yet. Live. Laugh. Love. Darating din yan, kaya maghintay ka lang! Good things come for those who wait. :)

Hands up, Single Ladies! :)

Cheers,
Kim

Why? Because the person who does that truly loves and respects you. Nowadays, not a lot of people have that kind of mentality. It’s just so sad to know.

Girls, your purity is something you have to take care of. This is not something that you can just give away easily to anyone out there. This is for the man you will be marrying someday. This is the most special gift that you can give to him. It belongs to him, and only him—and, no one else can ever take that away from you except him.

Let me share an activity I did back in High School. It’s called ‘Letter to my future husband.’ Here goes.

Dear Future Husband,

How are you? I bet you won’t believe me when I say that I often think about you. I am not kidding. I think about the life that we are going to share and the journey that we will take together.

I know that there are probably a lot of girls you’ve dated or had a relationship with before. But, I want you to know that I trust you. I trust that will be waiting for me. And so am I.

Times are constantly changing, huh? People are so open about sex now. Why? Probably, because of media and other influences. I am waiting for you, and I always will. You are the only person who can be able to touch me and no else.

There are tons of couples out there who did “it,” and reasoned out that it is called love. But, it’s not. It’s called lust.

Have you ever wondered who I am? How about our kids? No matter what happens, I will always be by your side. For good or for bad. I will be here when no one listens. I will be here when you need a hug. I will be here when you need a good ol’ laugh. I am not perfect, because I am only human. But, I will try to be everything that you need.

I love you and I always will, that’s why I am committing my entire life to only you. Your my minute of my every day. :)

So, here I am. Waiting. I promise you won’t regret it.

Love,
Your future wife, Kim

Just always remember that he is out there waiting for you. Go do the same. Promise. It is worth the wait. YOU are worth the wait. :)

Good things come to those who wait, Candy Girls! :)

Much Love,
Kim
