Candy Fair 2010

It was my first time to attend the Candy Fair and I can say that it’s totally AWESOME! I enjoyed every minute of my stay at the fair. It was really great seeing the Candy Cuties having fun posing for pictures with the Candy girls! My COC mates Alekx, Jaz, Leslie, Mars, Vicky, and I had a blast bonding at the fair. It was some kind of a reunion for us because we haven’t seen each other for almost 3 months! Words are not enough to describe my Candy Fair experience so I’d like to share with you my favorite moments through photos.

Starstruck guys’ performance. These guys danced well! Wow!

Gigger Boys AJ and Enrique. I liked their performance! They’re both full of energy! Enrique was my schoolmate in high school (2 batches younger than me)! He was really quiet back then and I never saw him perform in school events so I was surprised when I first saw him on TV!

I woke up to a rainy Saturday morning on September 26, 2009. I went to school for the AC Open House and to meet up with my friends and work on our Broadcast Journalism project. Shooting the scenes for our video was so difficult! Some of the scenes in our storyboard and script were outdoors so imagine us shooting in the pouring rain with our umbrellas. Since we were having a hard time shooting the outdoor scenes, we decided to shoot the indoor ones first because the weather was really bad.
After wrapping up the shoot at the library, water came rushing down the hallways in one of our buildings. Water was all over the first floor where the lockers are and also inside the student council office. We had no choice but to pass the flooded areas. I called my dad to tell him that my friends and I were done with our shoot and that he can pick me up to go to the Candy Fair. After a few minutes, my mom called me and said that it was flooded outside our village. The water was really big and my dad can’t get through it. She told me to stay in school first and they’ll wait for the water to subside. Soon after, the whole Metro Manila was submerged in water. Streets were impassable so I ended up staying in school for the night with fellow Assumptionists, faculty and staff, guests, potential applicants who took the free entrance exam, and parents.

AC was like an evacuation center that night. We were all very grateful to the AC community for keeping us all safe in the school. They provided us food, toiletries, and mats to sleep on. Everyone really bonded that night. It was like a big slumber party! I was with two of my blockmates and we stayed at the theater office. We sang songs with the staff, ate junk food, and exchanged stories. We stayed up until 2 am and went home at around 3 am. I hitched a ride with my blockmate who also lived in Paranaque. I will never forget this experience because this was the first time that I got stranded. Well, there’s always a first for everything. This experience definitely made it to my list of “Why My College Life is Memorable.”

It’s barely three weeks till my much awaited sembreak from grad school! Yay! Even if I only go to school twice a week, it’s still tiring. An hour and a half (or sometimes two if there’s traffic) drive from Paranaque to Ateneo takes a lot of effort. And the papers, reports, and projects that I have to work on really stress me out. But I’m okay with the workload. It’s not as many as I had in college and I am good in handling stress *wink*.
So how do I plan to spend my sembreak? Of course, read. Some of you may think what a boring girl I am but seriously, it’s my ultimate stress buster. I just love spending time with a good book in a quiet and relaxing environment. I find it refreshing.
Lately, I have been going to bookstores and scouring the shelves for good reads. I found a couple of titles that I’m eager to read during my break. I bought some while the others have to wait patiently on their respective shelves because I still have a lot of saving to do. But I assure those books that I’ll get my hands on them soon. Haha! So here are the titles that I found when I went book hunting:
- The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
- Life on the Refrigerator Door by Alice Kuipers
- Perfect You by Elizabeth Scott
- My Name is Memory by Ann Brashares
- How it Ends by Laura Wiess
- The Boyfriend List by E. Lockhart
- Mini Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella
- When It Happens by Susane Colasanti
- The Six Rules of Maybe by Deb Caletti
- The Secret Life of Prince Charming by Deb Caletti
Do you know good books that you can recommend?

I Heart Disney
September 9, 2010 at 6:36 pmTags: Aladdin, Camp Rock, Camp Rock 2, Cinderella 3, Disney, Enchanted, Hannah Montana, Hercules, Ice Princess, Jonas LA, Mulan, Pocahontas, Princess Protection Program, starstruck
I’m a Disney baby. I grew up watching Disney shows and movies. Up to this day, I still watch shows and movies on the Disney Channel and also on the big screen. There’s a certain factor with Disney shows and movies that makes me love every single bit about them. Oh and I also won’t forget the music. I love Disney soundtracks! They’re the kind of music that I’ll never stop listening to. I still have the cassette tapes of Disney songs I loved from when I was a kid! Everything Disney makes people of all ages happy and most of all: make them feel like a kid again. I have a lot of favorite Disney movies, shows, and songs but the ones that I’m going to share with you in this blog entry are my super favorite ones.
- “Introducing Me” by Nick Jonas (from Camp Rock 2)
- “One and The Same” by Demi Lovato & Selena Gomez (from Princess Protection Program)
- “Wouldn’t Change A Thing” by Demi Lovato & Joe Jonas (from Camp Rock 2)
- “Can I Have This Dance” by Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron (from High School Musical 3)
- “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus (from Hannah Montana The Movie)
- “Your Biggest Fan” by Nick Jonas (from JONAS L.A.)
- “Reflection” by Christina Aguilera (from Mulan)
- “This is Me” by Demi Lovato (from Camp Rock)
- “Hero” by Sterling Knight (from Starstruck)
- “So Close” by Jon McLaughlin (from Enchanted)
- “Colors of the Wind” by Vanessa Williams (from Pocahontas)
- “A Whole New World” (from Aladdin)
- “Go The Distance” by Michael Bolton (from Hercules)
- “Reachin’ for Heaven” by Diana DeGarmo (from Ice Princess)
- “I Still Believe” by Hayden Panettiere (from Cinderella 3: A Twist in Time)
What are you favorite Disney songs, movies, and shows, Candy Girls?

If I were a piece of clothing, I’d be a jacket. Like a jacket, I’ll always be there whenever my friends need a hug. Enough with the cheesiness! Haha! Really, I do love jackets. I easily get cold so I always have one in my bag. I like the way it hugs me and keeps me warm in no time. Back in college, the classrooms in my school were all air conditioned so having a jacket is a must. It’s my instant life saver when rooms get really cold. With a jacket, I feel secure.
I bought a jacket last Saturday when I went shopping with my cousins at Kids of Bayo. I like that store! Even if it is for kids, they have big sizes that can fit teens and adults! When I saw the jacket, I knew at the moment that it’s a keeper. It’s really nice and on sale! 50% off—bingo! At first, I had second thoughts of buying the jacket because I’m saving money and I still have some that I can use at home. But then, my cousins who are good at persuading made the jacket look even more irresistible. So I ended up buying it and it made my day! I may have said goodbye to a portion of my savings but it really feels good to treat yourself once in a while.
