On our final Happy Thoughts entry, we, the Council of Cool 10, share with you our favorite memories and experiences with the sweetest, best-est mag in the country…

I honestly couldn’t pick any. Every single time I spent with these girls and our editors are special, especially since there is always something new to learn each day, making every experience sweeter than the last. I love COC10! —Alekx

Twilight not only brought vampire, Rob P and Taytay cults come together and form pacts.

The COC’10 had the amazing chance to catch Eclipse’s premiere and I have not been happier as a COC.

Not only did I feel bonded with my COC mates, it was the day I hit my enlightenment stage as a COC.

It was the day when I drove back home and after imagining Taylor L’s abs for the 37th time, I flashed with moments of the COC and the highs and even higher highs.

Maybe it was twilight when I got hit by cupids arrow as I fell in even more madly in love with the work, Candy and the COC that day.

No one does it better than Candy and the COC.

And we, like vampires would never die, but our soul and works are here for eternity, to inspire, to tickle your fancy and to just share our love for what Candy girls love and stand for.

If I only had the ability and techno prowess to change the girl cast’s heads into the COC10′s, I would.

But now, let us just use our imagination and laugh at how funny that might’ve been.

P.S. Sorry, but I call dibs on changing my face to the girl behind Taytay.

Ya’ll can get the girl below Kellan Lutz. He has a 6 pack too c: —Jazmin

My best COC memory is working on the mini mag because I got to feel what it’s like working in a magazine. It’s a dream come true and I had a great time working with my council mates! Pulling out stuff from stores for the fashion spread, interviewing celebrities, writing feature articles that Candy Girls can relate to….it’s the best experience ever! :)—Jesselle

Getting to know the girls! —Keisha

As our journey as COC 10 ends, I look back and try to remember the walk down the road. Being a wonderful experience, I knew I must have had a favorite moment but it’s actually hard to single out a COC memory because the whole COC experience has been particularly incredible. However, here goes trying.

I remembered the starstruck moments (Raygun, KC Concepcion, Elmo Magalona, Martin del Rosario, Nico Ibaviosa, Albie Casino, Candy eds ;) …), the monthly meetings which allowed me to get to know my fellow COC girls even more (gushing over the cutest boys and laughing over the crazy little things that you think nobody notices—ice cream, anyone? :p), movie premiere, writing articles… It was all so great. But it all goes back to that one fateful day…

I was in my European Cross Cultural Communication class and I was so anxious about the COC screening later that day. I was actually late since I had a class until 6, but I was so grateful that I still had a shot. I won’t spill any details here, but when I got out of the elevator on the Summit floor, the eds were actually on their way down and I was asked to go to this particular room where I had to write something down. And so I did. And afterwards, there was a little chitchat with the eds. I was so nervous (I even forgot what I wanted to say!) but they were all so nice so it was alright. I walked out feeling a bit glum, wondering if my anxiety got the best of me. But days after, I got that text that got me into this big whirlwind of all things great, and cool. :)Leslie

I still get warm, fuzzy goosebumps every time I remember the day I found out that I was chosen to be part of the Council of Cool. It was a dream come true for little ol’ me. That day, I had the biggest smile plastered on my face the whole time, and nothing could bring me down from my Candy-induced high. —Mars

Let it not be said that you can’t be happy when it comes to good-byes. it’s almost inherent that they be rather depressing, after all, you’ll be closing a chapter in the book of you’re life, and you’re leaving something behind. so for my happy thought this month, I’d like to thank Candy. For the recognition, the memories, the opportunities, and of course, perhaps best of all, my friends. :) (and also for this Candy blog, which was sort of the avenue in which I discovered my comedic…abilities HOHO)

Everything dramu-related said, my best COC related memory would be the candy fair! especially the dinner and dessert with the other COC gals. nothing like meeting like-minded girls like you who have “high” standards for boys! :)) —Vicky

October Happy Thoughts

You know what I’m thinking. It starts with SEM and ends with HELLSFREAKINGYEAHBREAK! One of the beautiful things about college. :) —Vicky

So I hit the big 2-0. Officially not a teen anymore! My birthday was simple but really heartwarming. Receiving loads of greetings from people I don’t get to talk to anymore and my teammates surprising me with a cake made it truly special!  —Leslie

A lot of college students love October because it brings happy, stress-free days in their otherwise haggard lives – yes folks, it’s sembreak time again! To kick off the next few school-less weeks, my photojourn class (which is, by the way, the best class EVER) trooped to Enchanted Kingdom for a a crazy, fun-filled afternoon. We attempted (and failed) to put on poker faces while on Anchors Away, got absolutely drenched in the Rio Grande Rapids, camwhored while on top of the Wheel of Fate, screamed our lungs out on the Space Shuttle, and basically had an absolutely grand time. I couldn’t ask for a better sem-ender! —Mars

Sembreak mode is ON! I’ve been waiting for this! Haha! This month, I’m so excited for my godson’s 1st birthday celebration, my mom’s birthday, and my family’s Halloween party! We haven’t had a Halloween party for so long and we’re so excited to have one this year! Hmmm…what will be my costume? Any suggestions, Candy Girls? :) —Jesselle

I am having the sweetest month ever! Thanks to: (1) Candy Fair, (2) COC mini-mag, (3) and awesome friends to celebrate with the remainder of my sembreak! —Alekx

What are your happy thoughts, Candy Girls?

I recently got hooked to The Hunger Games series thanks to my high school friend, Sam! :) I was really curious what the story is about so I read book reviews. A lot of people were saying that it’s really nice and when my friend told me about it, I decided to buy a copy of the first book. When I got hold of it, I couldn’t put it down! It’s sooo good! I didn’t even realize that I was nearing the end! I really like the plot and of course, the love story of Peeta Mellark and Katniss Everdeen! I read the 2nd book, Catching Fire the whole day last Monday! The books completely blew me away. Amazing! I’m looking forward to the release of the 3rd book, Mockingjay on the 25th! :) —Jesselle

Last last weekend, I went to Baguio with my workmates! We took a 2am bus straight from work on a Friday night and it was truly an adventure! Baguio is always a place where you could literally “chill.” So after two weeks of stressful attempts to understand my tasks, it was really nice to be able to have a break and spend time with people from my team without having to talk about the business side of things. —Leslie

THREE MONTHS AND COLLEGE!!! WOOHOOOOOO :))

1) One of the main differences of high school to college is the “block” system. Which still confuses me, seeing we’re a block with no common classes. However, for some reason, we all just stick together (thanks, OrSem! :)) and I’m lucky to have these motley crew of people who accept schizophrenic, always-late-even-if-i-live-5-minutes-away me. :)

Thanks for making me happy (so far), R2. :)) I’m looking forward to your birthdays & debuts :))

2) Dorm life. I need some Cougar Town (and a bunch o’other dvds) in my life to survive. More than I need nissin cup noodles (the original japanese ones ARE THE BOMB)

3) Orgs. Hellooooo to get-ting in-voooolved. :) :-bd I’m so happy I have all these opportunities to grow, to meet new people, to discover things about myself, opportunities like these weren’t really available in high school. —Vicky

Nothing beats seeing my friends as they were in high school—stressless, eyebag-less, and still infectious with idealism and youth. I’d like to keep this mental image of them in my head, you know. Still happy and carefree. Not loaded down with the infamous amount of school work brought down on students in college. (Do I sound depressing or what? :)) )

Also: WORLD CUP. Even if I didn’t adhere to my resolution to follow it…er…resolutely, good heavens, all those cute, fit, angry men running around the field did wonders to my endorphin levels. Viva La Furia Roja! (Which is my 2nd top team, next to the Netherlands. Poor Oranje boys :’( Let’s conquer 2014, yeah? —Vicky

After a month’s worth of adventure, I am finally back in Manila! As much as I enjoyed an altogether different scenery, nothing can replace my hometown’s place in my heart. It’s really really nice to see my family and friends again. I’m back to my usual spot in the world and I’m currently a week away from my first day of work. Wish me luck! For now, I’ll soak up the wonders of being home sweet home. —Leslie

Going to watch Cinemalaya’s independent films for the first time is an incredible experience. Not only does it provide artists-and-radicals-in-the-making like me and my college friends an avenue for social and cultural awareness, it also encourages us to engage in artistic forms of expression such as motion picture. As we speak (or as you read this), an Indie film written, produced, and starred in by US is in talks and pre-production. —Alekx

It’s already been a month since I started studying again! I never thought graduate school would be great! The classes I’m taking this semester are really fun and I learn a lot from them. At first, I had a hard time adjusting to university life since I came from an all-girls college. But now, I am happy that I am getting used to my new environment and the best thing is that I’m taking up a course that I really like – which is Journalism. :) —Jesselle

When there’s nothing to do,
Nothing to say,
Dance.

Dance like no one is watching and broadcast it to the world! Peace! —Jaz R.

Let’s face it: going to school everyday would be sheer torture without friends who can relate to all our academic (and not-so-academic) woes. My block mates have been there for me all throughout this roller coaster ride called “college”, and this school year is not gonna be any different: we’ll still stick together like the clingy block that we are, despite all the added stress and sleepless nights. Here’s to surviving third year, block K5! <3 —Mars

With the past three months easily getting the “most stressful summer ever” award in my book, I felt like I could really use a lazy day by the beach before classes started. So earlier this month, my family trooped to Batangas for some much-needed unwinding. There was nothing better than lying on the sand all afternoon and letting the waves roll around me and momentarily forgetting all the things I had to do. Definitely a good way to cap off summer! —Mars

Today is my first day of classes and you can bet I’m so excited! Summer was bittersweet for me and I have been having a lot of realizations lately. I’m glad to finally be able to go to school and put my thoughts into actions. Lazy summer days are nice, but nothing keeps me going like terror professors and crazy deadlines. I am all set to make this year even better than the last. I mean, who isn’t? Alekx

If the week I had to spend in my future college, waiting in line to get my ID and managing to get lost in the campus three times, doesn’t sound as fun, it wasn’t. Good thing the fantastic businessmen of Katipunan selflessly thought about people like me and decided to bless me with some shrooms. And these shrooms are those you can totally get “high” with your friends. It’s Mushroom Burger! Yes! All the way from Tagaytay for our abdomen’s pleasure! I had been craving them since the first time I tried them (which was a few months ago). And I suggest all of you college students in the Katipunan area to try them out! And they are completely great for the vegetarians out there as well! I decided to get an original burger nix the cheese (For less calories and that real mushroom taste!)  and this sweet mushroom dessert they have. It’s a great wallet-friendly place to hang and hog the free wifi with your friends plus the parking here is great! In The Picture: Joni Aquino, Leonora Virata, and I Jazmin

Summer’s almost over for most teens, but for my case I have almost another summer before I officially start college life. My happy thought for this month would be the freedom and independence that summer comes along with. Not all teens get the chance to start a new life, to be independent and to learn the value of money in one summer. Lucky for me, I got to experience so much new things in such a short time. So make the most out of the remaining days left before hitting the books! Keisha

June is the month I’ve been looking forward to this year because it’s my birthmonth! And today, I turn 20! :) I plan to celebrate my birthday by having lunch with my parents in one of our favorite restaurants. I will also celebrate with my cousins and relatives during the weekend! Double celebration! :) Another reason why I’m looking forward to June is because it’s the month that Eclipse will be shown! Yay! I can’t wait to see the movie! Have you caught the Eclipse fever? Mine’s reached a hundred degrees of excitement already!! :) Jesselle

I am happy with the thought of being able to find myself amongst strangers. Also, overflowing amounts of cute boys make me really happy–my mornings are brighter, and my rainy days are somehow sunnier. :) Then there’s also college. Excitement, mess and stress abound, but I hope I am ready. Nothing else to be but ready. And lastly, I have a reincarnated iPod back! :) Vicky

Saying hello from California, being up in the air for hours, daylight at 7pm, seeing my best friend after 2 long years, buses and trains, good dose of laughter, independence, celebrity sightings and the promise of tomorrow! Leslie
