Day in the Life of Candy

I’m a sucker for fashion shows! So imagine my delight when Ana Gonzales’s li’l sis Cea, invited me to model for their event. I modeled for Poisonberry, Glitterati, and Wrangler together with the other girls. Isn’t it cool?
With Cea and Ana
I’m actually digging this skirt! I’m planning to buy this one but if anyone knows where I can get a similar hot pink skirt like this, let me know please.
It’s been a great night for me. I met new friends and obviously, I enjoyed strutting my stuff as well. I have a very tight schedule but I’m still trying to multitask at times. Haha!

NESCAFÉ 3in1 Soundskool is painting the town red once again! Get ready to standout, shine and be known because with the theme, “Huwag Na Magtago! Magparamdam Ka Na!” we’re 101% sure that you would never fail to make fame in the back of your hands.
Last Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 4:00 PM at the Paseo de Bahamas Restobar, Robinsons Place Manila, Council-mate Mika and I witnessed NESCAFÉ 3in1 Soundskool’s live jam-cum-rockeoke session featuring former Grand Prize Winners Hilera (2005) and Letter Day Story (2008). Selected finalists from NESCAFÉ 3in1 Soundskool 2008 were also there to rock the night away. What more can I say, it was a blast!
Grace One, Hooligans, Project Band, Hilera, and Letter Day Story were there to entertain the crowd!
And because Filipinos are naturally passionate about music and love to express themselves, NESCAFÉ 3in1 Soundskool are now accepting applications from all unsigned bands ages 16-26 years old, with three to five members. Talented young bands coming from 400 colleges and universities nationwide are open to join! P250,000 cash prize with a record label deal with Sony Music Philippines are waiting for the grand winner!
I know you’re really excited to hear more about this so go ahead and log on to www.nescafe3in1.com.ph/soundskool for more details.

Not all people in your life will be yours forever. Change is constant and you have to bear with the fact that you don’t own each person’s life. And no matter how you choose to be with them, if it’s God’s will to take them away from you, then be it. Be thankful instead because in a way, somewhere in your life, you met them.
These last few weeks, I came to a point where God tested my survival power. I lost my fourth year high school adviser, Ms. Daisy J. Flores. God took away her breath last July 15, 2009. She battled for a couple of days with a very drastic disease. I never thought she would leave us that soon. It was like a nightmare when I read a group message coming from my HS teacher and classmates. All our memories played consecutively in my mind right after I got the message. It was like going to a time machine where I want to go back. For the last time, I want to feel her presence—hug her, kiss her, and tell her how much important she is to me. It’s been four years since the last time I saw her but it feels like yesterday.
She taught me a lot of things during my last days in high school. Yes, I was a nerdy girl before with zero confidence and negative thoughts in my mind but she believed in my abilities and pushed me to run for Student Council President. However, I didn’t have the guts then, so I end up running for Student Council 4th Year Representative instead. I was also a crybaby before and littlest things can already make me shed tears. I was super clumsy too and accident-prone before. I would go down and fall in the last four steps of the stairs, hit my head with our classroom window, leaving large bumps at my forehead, drive the scooter with heels hitting a post straight on(I had a lot of bruises after!). She comforted me and even told me that I should be extra careful. I never thought she would research that during full moon, I always do have accidents. Scary much?

Celebrating Valentines Day with Ma’am Flores (4th year – St. Lawrence Batch 2005)
Then there’s also countless times where I thought of quitting but she motivated me to reach for my goals. Ma’am Flores was there during my tough times. She was there whenever I need a mom, a friend, an adviser, and a confidant. I became mature enough to face life’s challenges because of her. I became First Honorable Mention and Student Council 4th Year Representative of the batch. And she’s one of the reasons why I made it!
Thank you, Ma’am Flores. You inspire me to do more and lead me to where I am today. I would surely miss you. ‘Til we meet again. We love you! :’(

I’m really in deep love with the fast paced modernization of technology nowadays. It’s such an amazing discovery whenever I see something new. So let me name some of the gadgets I would love to have:
(Photo 1)

If there’s an eye wear fit for both fashionistas and geeks, it would be Calvin Klein’s new released USB Sunglasses! Imagine yourself wearing a 4GB USB port under the sun. And since it’s detachable, you won’t have a problem missing it. How cool is that?!
Here’s the Camera Camera Case for the people who love photography! Yup, you read it right, the word “camera” was really typed twice. Obviously, it’s because the camera case looks like a camera as well. It’s soooooo cute!
A bracelet? Or a watch? You might be in doubt but this metal band can show you the time with just a push in a button! The LEDs light hidden in a bracelet is totally awesome! Kudos to the designer Hironao Tsuboi.
You now know what’s on the top of my wish list, huh? Just kidding. But seriously, I would really want to own these ones! Haha!

I hibernated for two months after my college graduation last April. I can still remember how I jumped off from nursing school to continue my passion for the field of arts three years ago. Time really flies so fast that little by little, my closet filled with black pants and white polos (Yes, that’s my college uniform!) were replaced with corporate clothes.
I planned to apply at Scanwell Graphic Corp. last Thursday. This is actually my first job application and thank God, after 8 interviews and 4 exams, I got in! Yes, I’m hired! I’ll be entering the field of Marketing and I’ll start this week! I’m super happy but still, a bit sad for the fact that I won’t be able to do modeling stints like I used to before. I have working schedule from Monday to Saturday. Aww.
So I just thought this one’s a great opportunity to thank all the people I have worked with. Thank you for letting me express myself, meet new people and pursue my passion. I’m still hoping I could work with you AGAIN someday. You know I will always look back and smile. I had the time of my life for 8 months not because I got lots of projects or got bragging rights but because my days were spent with people I shared with the same passion I have.
This was taken last year where I appeared as a school girl for Ka-blog’s “Dennis Trillo Segment”. Too bad, I haven’t watched this episode.
Before, I also did ushering for added income. This was taken last year at Odfjell’s Inauguration Event at Traders hotel.
We modeled Bong Morris’ gown collections here at Runway Fierce Fashion Show.

100up’s first photo challenge at Daraitan, Tanay Rizal
These are just few of the countless memories I’ve had in this field. There never came I time where I thought of quitting because this is something I’ve always wanted to do. But then, change is constant and I need to have a stable job too. I have no regrets though because I came out of my shell, embraced the spotlight, and felt great. It’s all because of you guys. So here’s a biiiiiig THANK YOU to all of you! Hope to work with you again!
Xoxo,
CJ
