Day in the Life of Candy

Dear Lord,
I am thankful for old, ugly abandoned bedrooms.
You know, the ones that can be repainted and refurnished, just in time for college.
Thank you for inventing purple and pink, and for bringing the zebra print into my life.
Please continue to give me hope and inspiration—the kind that will let me give life to this big canvas. (I’m so excited to fill this up!)
Until then, I will always be proud of my new bedroom, and I am so excited to show it off to my friends at our first sleepover here. I couldn’t have done it without your guidance (and my mom’s crafty sewing skills and my dad’s financial sponsorship). Amen.
Love,
Aura
PS. What a busy week! Thank God it’s Friday! <33

For our Personal Effectiveness class, we were asked to create our very own dream board, much like Ding’s “vision board.” We have a ton of other homework so mine was a little rushed, but I still had a lot of fun compiling pictures for it.
10 years from now, I should already be finishing my residency in pediatrics. I really love kids, so it would be great to have them in my workplace everyday. I can already imagine my clinic to have a playground/café setting—wouldn’t that be cool? That’s number one on my list right now. But somewhere along the busy years of med school and internship, I hope to walk the runway at least once (or twice, thrice, I don’t know!), travel the world (Greece, please!), be an ambassador of good will (Miss Earth, anyone? Planting trees in heels and tiaras!) and of course, meet my future husband. The idealistic (okay, also materialistic) girly in me is so excited—in ten years, I’ll be an established woman who can afford pretty shoes like the Miu Miu pair above!
Haha! I read the previous paragraph again and I couldn’t help but laugh at my crazy dream girl mode. Honestly, I’ve never been fond of setting goals, and I think this might be the first time I was asked to envision my future. I know things will definitely change, but for now, this is what I’ll hold on to. And whatever happens, I know I’ll always believe in the quote in the middle. It’s been my life motto ever since! “If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change the way you think about it.”

It’s been online for a while now, but if you still haven’t seen it, here’s the first official trailer for New Moon.
Note: No copyright infringement intended.
The second set in the Twilight Saga will come out in theatres on November 20. What do you think?
I think the wolf, despite its fierceness, looks like a giant chow chow I want to hug! I’m so excited for the movie. Some people are not so happy that there won’t be a lot of Edward this time, but who knows? Jacob might be a sweeter eye candy. Watch out for Dakota Fanning too, who will be playing Jane from the Volturi coven.
Oh and before I leave, please join the whole Lasallian community as we pray for our current situation regarding the A(H1N1) virus inside our campus. Our classes are suspended until June 14, and so far there have been three confirmed cases among our students. Honestly, I think the threat of this pandemic was a little exaggerated by the media and our natural paranoid ways. But I still suggest you read up and know the facts and statistics. It will definitely give you more relief and safety, and it will improve the case of student apathy. A few weeks ago, I didn’t think I’d be affected by this. But now, here I am, afraid that every little sneeze I encounter will make me sick.
Better safe than sorry,
Aura:)

Zoology Lab Professor:
“Why is the sperm cell so small? Why is the egg cell so big? It’s so fun to learn about those things!”
…K
Zoology Lecture Professor:
“Oh, the frog is just your stepping stone – you can just smash it.”
(But sir, we respect life!)
“Well, you can just kill it softly.”
!?!?!
Philosophy Professor:
“Late and electronic submissions are not allowed. These will be thrown out of the building.”
“Final grades are not negotiable. No volume of tears can save you.”
Theology Professor:
“I’m not a flirt! I’m not a flirt!”
!!!!!!!
Chemistry Lecture Professor:
“I am not his assistant, nor am I the school janitor. This is not my job! I’m going to take this up to his department.”
(Erases the blackboard the previous teacher left behind.)
… ok?
There you go—a quick entry about my first three days in my university. Yes, college girl! J But before I attend to my homeworks, let me share to you some of my favorite images from PostSecret.
I know right, these are so high school! Hahaha, kidding.

Lo and behold! You are now reading my last entry for summer vacation. And I guess we can also put it in another way. I am now writing this entry during my last summer vacation. No kidding. In a few days, I will be starting college, wherein I have to complete two years of advanced human biology courses in a span of six semesters and two summer classes. No. Kidding.
*tries to fake a smile*
*fails*
I have six days left, and I want to make sure every day counts. Like today—Tuesday! (My last free Tuesday!) Here are the things to look forward to today:
- One Tree Hill Season 6 Finale

Sorry to be the bearer of this news, but if you haven’t heard yet, neither Chad Michael Murray nor Hilarie Burton has renewed their contracts with The CW. Therefore, Lucas and Peyton are not coming back for Season 7! I didn’t believe it at first but official statements have already been released, according to the online articles I’ve read. They will be replaced by two new characters though, one of whom is Julian (Brooke’s Julian), who will be a regular cast member starting next season. Personally, Luke and P.Sawyer’s line in the story has been pretty boring already, but I will still miss them terribly! Hello, I miss Karen and Keith, what more for my favorite couple since Season 1? I have always rooted for Luke and Peyton. And today, I will learn how their story ends.
- Gossip Girl Season 2 Finale

Have you seen the supposed leaked script of the last episode? I watched it from YouTube, and after reading it, I know I’d rather have that as a spoiler than as a scam. I really want that scene to come alive! I’m really hoping for that finale! Bet you want to search it off YouTube now, eh? :) While you’re at it, check out another mini-series aired during Gossip Girl commercials—Chasing Dorota! You think the rich are the only one in the UES who experience drama? Well, you’re wrong. What do you think happens when the elite go out for the day? When the boss is away, the help will play. Check it out at http://www.cwtv.com/thecw/dorota. (You know what, I think Dorota might be Gossip Girl! Hahaha
- One Last Party!
Tonight I’m off to my friend’s debut, and it’s probably going to be our last big get-together before college starts! I’m so excited to see my friends and have fun. Oh, and I’m wearing the yellow ballerina skirt my mom and I made. Yay for DIY!
I have to go now. I have six more days to make the most out of. On my list: photoshoot with a friend, dance practice for a debut, season 5 of Grey’s Anatomy, redecoration of the bedroom I’m moving into for college, and one last hangout with my barkada!
Six more days, six wonderful days.
