When I first watched High School Musical way back in 2006, I, together with my sister, Bea, became Zanessa fans. We would always check celebrity sites just to see if they went out on a dinner date, watched a Lakers game together, or spent a day chillin’ at the beach. Ahh, I can just imagine how happy they were! Imagine, a really gorgeous and stylish girl a.k.a. Vanessa Hudgens with the crowd favorite, Zac Efron a.k.a. my one true love.

After hearing about their breakup, my heart literally crashed into pieces and I really wondered why two people who were definitely ideal together (well, based on my thinking) could separate after five years of being a couple— a perfect one, actually.

I’m quite sure that a lot of people shared the same feeling with me after what happened—several collaged photos of them were reblogged on Tumblr countless times, celebrity media talked about them and kept searching for the reason of the breakup, their names were constantly included in the worldwide trends on Twitter, and the list just goes on.

Currently, Vanessa is in a relationship with Switched at Birth actor Austin Butler; they’ve been seen numerous times cuddling with each other. Meanwhile, Efron’s been linked to Lily Collins but no one has confirmed if they’re really a couple. Even though my forever favorite couple isn’t together now, I still believe and wish that they’ll be together again someday.

Some of you might be all giddy and excited ‘cause you’re waiting for something romantic to happen tomorrow, some may celebrate “Single Awareness Day,” and some might call Valentine’s Day simply as Tuesday—merely another day of the week.

Remember, V-Day isn’t just for two people sharing their love with each other. Whatever you’re feeling on that special day dedicated to love, romance, and everything in between, know that a lot of people—may it be your family, best friends, boyfriend, or anyone close to your heart—do love and care about you.
