Nope, this isn’t about gossip. Haha. Now that we’ve left August behind, allow me to look back and enumerate the things that made me happy last month—and they all begin with S!

1. A Site
   Thanks to Ate Marla’s mention of it on the Candy blog, I found PostSecret, a really cool project where people send their secrets on anonymous postcards, and Frank Warren posts 20 secrets every Sunday. It’s a poignant experience reading through the site every week. It’s sad and empowering at the same time.My favorite PostSecret so far reads, “When I learn to love myself, I promise I’ll love you next.”
2. A Secret
   Nope, not one from the PostSecret site. Haha. But halfway through August, someone told me something that completely – and pleasantly – surprised me! Wish I could write about it here for all of cyberspace to read, but it’s a secret! My lips are sealed! :p
3. A Sunset
   Last August 18, a friend took me to Manila Bay to watch the sunset. It was the first time I’ve watched it, and it was just as beautiful as they say it is. Too bad I don’t have pictures.
4. A Scent
   It’s always nice to find a new fragrance that you can’t get enough of. An aunt gave me a cologne and lotion duo for my birthday, but they’ve sat in my room for ages until I decided to try the body splash. I instantly fell in love.

5. A Show
   Last August 24, I watched my best guy friend Daryl star as Prince Brian in a musical staging of Rapunzel! The show was wonderful and funny. Daryl did an awesome job and I’m so proud of him! (By the way, George, the other actor who plays the Prince, is a Candy Cutie! Haha, small world, huh?)You can still catch Rapunzel on September 7 and 21 at the Insular Life Theater in Alabang! 6. A Seat
   Someone got me free courtside tickets to the DLSU-UST basketball game last week, and it was awesome! My Archer crushes, Simon Atkins and Maui Villanueva, were just a few feet away! <3 And, I was on TV! Haha! Barely recognizable, but definitely there! :p
7. A Shot
   At the same game, Maui Villanueva made a buzzer-beating shot to save the day for La Salle! The Archers and the Tigers were tied at 79, with 5.5 seconds left in the game. DLSU’s LA Revilla sprinted across the court, took a shot, missed – and Maui was there for the winning offensive rebound! What a thrill! I screamed and jumped and turned red – total FANGIRL moment! Haha! (Watch Maui’s winning moment here!)
   

   My classmates and I got to have our picture taken with the key players of the game, Jvee Casio and Maui Villanueva. Sweet! :)

8. A Series
   What else but the Twilight series?! I’m trying to keep myself from reading Eclipse (yes I’m such a loser, still on Eclipse because I’d only read Twilight last week!) because school work beckons, but that’s one fight I always lose! (Don’t tell my dad, hahaha!)
   

   I really loved Twilight! It reminded me of a couple I know, they talk almost exactly like Edward and Bella! Haha!

9. A Survey
   My good friend Peps and I are currently working on our thesis (about newspaper coverage of OFWs and how it affects readers’ opinions of them), and we’ve done some partial tabulations over the weekend. The results we have so far are pretty interesting and we’re excited!
10. A Song


I’m super loving David Archuleta’s “Crush” right now! (Hello, Ate Marla! :D) I pretty much play it over and over every night. Haha. If I had working earphones, I’m sure my iPod would get sick of playing this song! It’s a nice, happy tune, isn’t it?

Well, I guess my last S is that… it’s now September! Whee! (For me, that means I’m just a little over a month away from finishing college!) I can’t believe we’re done with two-thirds of 2008! Goodness! It makes me stop and wonder what I have accomplished in the last eight months. Haha. Well, I think I haven’t been entirely unproductive, so that’s good. Haha.

Yep, it’s the start of the “-ber” months now! We all have to save up for Christmas pressies. I’m excited to go gift shopping! (Another S!) I’m not excited about the inevitable holiday traffic, though.
