Going Back!

Last Sunday I was fortunate enough to reunite again with my 16-year old (soon to be 17!) cousin, Chantelle. The last time we saw each other was when we were 3 years old because her family moved to New York. Technically, we haven’t seen each other for more than a decade. We never really stayed in touch while she was abroad (when you’re 3 years old, the only things that revolve around your head are Barbie dolls and wooden blocks), but now that she’s back for her summer vacation, I cannot wait to catch up with her. :)

We really are related! We look alike don’t you think?

We ate in Via Mare (Greenbelt), a restaurant which serves authentic Filipino cuisine. My parents wanted to treat their family to Filipino food since New York doesn’t really provide options for the Pinoy tastebud.
The food was too good to pass up! I don’t think I’m ever going to get sick of eating Filipino cuisine. Their kare-kare, halo-halo, and bibingka were extremely yummy! I couldn’t help but get second (third and fourth) servings of everything! LOL.

After the lunch, I toured Chantelle inside Greenbelt because she said she wanted to experience Manila shopping at its finest! We weren’t able to move around that much because we needed to go back to her condotel. We walked a bit and talked about college, school, movies, and music. The list could go on and on! Although we weren’t really able to shop, I think I’m coming back for the Topshop sale. That, plus I badly need a copy of Breaking Dawn. I still haven’t read it!

I wanted to spend the 4-day weekend hanging out with her, but due to the huge pile of homework and tests this week, I had to decline. :( Nonetheless, I’m pretty excited for our next 3-day weekend (August 24-26) because we’re both flying to the wonderful shores of Palawan! I guess I’m starting my sembreak early!

I am thrilled that I will be able to tour her around the Philippines. We have a beautiful country and I think everyone deserves to see it.

This is going to be really fun, I can tell! I’ll blog about my Palawan escapade soon! Bye girls!

Love,
Sandra
