Familial Blues

I admit. I miss how my mom would get in the middle of my decision-making. I miss how my dad would force me to eat veggies. I miss how my younger sister would so tactlessly confirm my weight-gain and how my brother would ecstatically tell on me when I do something wrong.

Okay. Well, maybe not.

Point is, I miss them and quoting Lilo: “Ohana means Family. Family means no one gets left behind —or forgotten,” I’d do almost anything to be around them right now.

My mom just came home from the US . It’s great! I mean, I haven’t seen any of the former personas in almost two years… and now momma’s back—with tons of pasalubong!

We had a lot of catching up to do! My older sister and I have suffered the ache of solitude. We’d like to hear their story —of loneliness and missing us. Cunning. “Family means no one gets left behind —or forgotten!”

EVIDENCE # 1: Shopping at Sta. Monica Depot

VERDICT: No signs of loneliness.

So i guess it’s clear, we are officially missing out on all the fun they’re having! Not to mention all their Newport Beach and Las Vegas trips, to name a few. What happened to Ohana?? Hahaha!

Looking at the bright side, we’ll be heading there (my older sister, Abby, and I) soon and we’ll finally be complete! Phew!

So for you, Candy girls (and boys) who are fortunate enough to spend holdiays, birthdays, and other important events with complete family members present, never ever take them for granted! No matter how annoying they can get. Haha! Don’t hesitate to be all mushy mushy towards them. A simple hug and “I love you, brother!” (Shout out to Renaldo Lapuz!!!) goes a long way!

As for myself, I am just happy that despite these trials we face, we still remain strong as a family —loving each other unconditionally, keeping our faith in God alive, and of course, annoying each other when situation calls for it! ;)
