What's your all-time favorite book and why do you love it so much?

Edith Hamilton's Greek Mythology. In one book you get all your gods and goddesses who act like human beings, heroes/heroines and men themselves acting with his innate 'hubris', ironic love tales among humans or between man and gods and goddesses and mythical creatures. What's special with Greek Myth is how their characters are well known to be used as terms or comparisons (ex. Narcissism, Hellen of troy, Hercules, Achilles' Ankle). Another great thing about Greek Mythology is that it's a history book itself, wherein you get into the Greek culture and politics. I love Hamilton's version since it is lighter and compact while preserving each stories essence.
