Sometimes you're expected to be more than who you are. It hurts and sometimes you'll hate it. You will get used to all the expectations. The people around you will get used to you not meeting them. Don't feel bad. You don't owe these people anything, so don't feel like you're not enough just because you've disappointed them. We really can't please everyone around us.
But the battle doesn't end there, not with the people around you. There's still "you" you have to fight for. Sometimes you struggle hard to fight your fears, the voices that tell you you're not good enough. At the end of the day, what people think of you isn't the thing that will matter most. It's what you think that's more important. Self-pity, insecurities, doubts, despondence, sadness—they won't stop from trying to eat you up, will they? How hard must it be to survive a war that begins and ends inside you?
Sometimes you struggle hard to fight your fears, the voices that tell you you're not good enough.
But where there is darkness, a little spark called hope continues to flicker. And that is where weary souls like mine hold on. Soon enough, a day will come when that spark will glow bright enough to cast all the shadows away and end all your battles, and finally, you'll be as beautiful as sunshine once again.
