Our friends keep on asking us on what it's like living with a twin. We always answer them with a shrug because we don't really know how to answer. But when we realized that having a twin is also challenging, we knew that our lives were somehow complicated in the same way people thought it would be.
Having a twin is not always as good as how everyone would think it is. There are certain struggles in our life in which we cannot avoid or escape. Here are the three struggles that we had:
Ths is the first thing that we always encounter wherever we are. Since we were born, there are already comparisons between us. As we grew up, they just keep coming. They ask us on who excels more in school, who is prettier, or who is better. These comparisons make us feel like we are never different from each other, though we know that we are. But we also saw how they affect our life individually. The more we get comparisons from people, the more we strive to be our individual selves without competiting against each other.
Tuition fees and other expenses.
Since we are already studying in different schools, our parents are working so hard to make ends meet and allow us to do what we want. It's not easy to have two children go to universities at the same time.
It's become normal for us but every time someone mistakes us for the other person, we feel funny. Sometimes we enjoy giving people some sort of guessing game, though.
