Candy Fair, A Tribute Of Sorts [subscribe to feed]
Yesterday was a jungle. It was crazy because everything was happening all at once, passing me by at the same pace and ending at the same time. Ever since I found out about the results of the Candy Teen Blog Awards, I have waited for that day when I would get to meet the judges and other Candy bloggers. Yesterday was supposed to be that day, but yesterday was also our Marketing defense. I couldn't miss both, but if there was one I would have to sacrifice, it was the awarding.Miss Macy was texting me about how the awarding would be in just a few minutes, and I was panicking because I was still in school. The worst part is we haven't even presented yet! So I just accepted the fact that I'd miss it, and that I'll just go to the Fair after... and I did. I met up with them, Macy and Roch, gave me the certificate and prize, took my picture (OH NO) and exchanged greetings. After that, I realized that I wanted to meet the rest of the Candy team. After all, I started reading their magazine when I was 13, and it would be nice if I could meet the people behind the scenes. Also, I once dreamt of becoming a magazine editor-in-chief. And I did get to meet them. I also had pictures with Eri (I'm a fan XD) and Sib from MTV. That made me happy.I could also remember how Steph, one of the judges, told me that she read my blog and I write well. Everytime someone tells me that, I really feel so grateful because people appreciate my writing and writing has always been both a passion and a dream for me. Thank you Steph, I never got to say that well enough last night because I was too overwhelmed. Although when I was first informed about how the awarding was going to be during the Candy Fair, unlike the simple dinner they held last year, I already imagined the onstage jitters I would be having. And for the first time, I wanted to feel how wild and crazy my nerves can get whenever triggered like that. But I didn't get to. And now, I just want to thank Candy again. I could never thank them enough actually, because I thought I didn't deserve this... I was just hoping I did. Thank you judges, and Candy for this prize. I'd love to contribute something for your magazine. :)It's really such an honor to be awarded for something that is related to my writing. Thank you for a dream fulfilled. I assure you, Candy Blog Awards gave my life a 360 degree turn.
