Okay. Desperate Housewives just became my least favorite show a few minutes ago. I never thought that I would hear such a stupid and degrading remark about the Philippines in this show... I should have known better. I am not over reacting. Laugh all you want.So Teri Hatcher's character says this after being told that she might be experiencing menopause or something:"Okay, before going further, can I check these diplomas cause I would just like to make sure that they’re not from some med school in the Philippines.” Now, if you're not from the Philippines you might have found this funny, amusing or lame. I know this line was written for humor but well... Don't you think it's a bit harsh? I have never felt so insulted in my entire life. Aside from the fact that I'm a Filipino and that I'm currently residing in the Philippines, I go to a med school, darn it! What does that make me? I was planning to work abroad after graduating but upon knowing this I don't think I still want to do that seeing as to how we are discriminated and looked down upon. So yeah, no thanks... and if you guys didn't know, our country supplies most of the nurses in the Sates. And some of the best doctors there graduated from med schools here. Sheesh.There. I said it. I feel better now. I don't care if the grammar and spelling is all topsy turvy... It makes the entry more genuine. Genuinely angry. Oh, well.
