Rainy days are slowly easing their way into our sunny days. Was lucky to have traveled to two islands this summer! Here are a few snapshots from my two trips. I can’t wait till I can go back and be by the ocean. It really is one of my happiest places on earth!

I’m not a K-Pop fan and I’ve never watched any Koreanovelas, so when my friends decided to go to Korea for our next barkada trip, I was only moderately excited. But after spending five whole days there, I began to realize why so many people keep raving about this unique and beautiful country. Here are a few things that made me fall in love with Korea:

1. Hiking up Mt. Namsan
We actually weren’t prepared to climb up this mountain to get to Seoul Tower, but since the taxi driver dropped us off at Namsan park, we had no choice! It was totally worth it though as we saw so many cherry blossoms and such breathtaking views. Good thing we were able to take the cable car on the way down.

2. Seeing the Teddy Bear Museum
This unique museum which showcases Korean history and culture is located in Seoul Tower. The teddy bears were adorable—and some of them even move!

3. Biking around Nami Island
Nami is about two hours away from Seoul and it’s the island where the Koreanovela Winter Sonata was filmed. My guy and I enjoyed tandem biking and seeing the beautiful natural wonders found here.

4. Eating spicy Korean food
This authentic bibimbap was TDF! *drools*

5. Dressing up in Korean costumes
My friends and I had a blast trying out different Korean outfits in Hanok Village—and posing for photos! Think we can pass for real Koreans?

6. Hanging out at the cutest cafes
There are all sorts of coffee shops on the streets of Seoul, but the Hello Kitty Cafe is definitely the most adorable one of all!

7. Shopping and spotting celebrities
Myeongdong is one of the most famous shopping spots in Seoul. After hours of shopping, we were resting in Dunkin Donuts when we spotted this celebrity couple! I honestly don’t know who they are but people swarmed all over them and started taking pics—so of course, I had to snap one too! Do you know who they are?

There are so many other wonderful spots in Korea and I wish I could have explored them all. I will definitely go back there someday! And maybe I’ll start listening to some K-pop and start watching Koreanovelas too! Any recommendations?

It’ll be my first time in Palawan and I’ve heard so many wonderful things about it. One of my good friends from college is celebrating her birthday this week and we get to do it in paradise!

I’m leaving today and all I’ve got in my bag are swimsuits, flip-flops, and dresses. Can’t wait to wake up to the sound of waves crashing and dive into crystal clear waters. Hoping to come back with a glowing tan and stories of adventure.

It all started with a wedding…

After seven amazing years together, I got married to the love of my life last March 23 in Clark. *cue cheesy confetti!*

A few days later, we flew to the beautiful island of Balesin where we swam and lazed by the beach, ran and biked around the island, and ate (a lot!) at the different restaurants.

Since we just moved into our new place, we’re still busy fixing our things and haven’t really had time to cook. So my family came over and brought the food to us! We had some delicious, easy-to-prepare paninis with mushrooms, ham, guyere cheese, and caramelized onions. Yum!

And just last Sunday, we headed to the beach again, this time with Roland’s family. It was a gorgeous sunny day in Subic—perfect for having a picnic!

Last March 23, the Candy team headed to Ilocos to witness the beautiful wedding of Margaux (our former fashion editor) and Con. While we were there, we took the opportunity to see the sights of the northernmost tip of Luzon. Here’s a fun picture we captured before we surfed the sand dunes of Paoay.

This year, we’re off to a different destination (road triiiip!!!) to do the same thing—attend the wedding of someone from the Candy family! Can you guess who? Clue: She is quite adventurous and is one of the girls in the picture above.

We’re all so excited for her to finally tie the knot with her Prince Charming! I’m sure some of us will even get teary-eyed when we see her walk down the aisle in her gorgeous gown and hear them exchange vows. (More pictures to follow in our upcoming blogs.) I hope you can take time to say a prayer for this special couple and wish them an unending supply of love and happiness.
