When my friend Alessa of Life After Breakfast invited me to a Nail Art Party, I didn’t even think twice about it. You already know how much I love nail art just by reading my entries here on the Candy blog.

The familiar smell of nail polish greeted us when we walked into Pipino last Tuesday. The other girls got a head start since we were late, so my friend Mikko and I just dived into the nail art madness right away. I originally wanted to attempt Ikat print on my nails but couldn’t quite recreate the one I saw on Refinery29. I ended up starting over and just went with one of my favorite nail art designs—galaxy nails!

It was a super fun “crafternoon.” And I even got the “neat freak” award, haha! We also got to sample yummy food from Pipino and took home polish for more nail art sessions at home!

What better way to kick-off summer than by going on a sun-drenched cruise aboard a private yacht?

That’s exactly what happened to Roch and I last Saturday when we were invited to take a sneak peek at Sperry Top-sider‘s 2012 collection.

We were treated to a lovely afternoon cruise around the bay at One Esplanade, followed by an insightful and totally inspiring presentation into the brand’s sailing heritage.

Two of Candy’s fave bloggers, Vernice and Vern Enciso, were also present.

“Where the heck do you find these things?” my brother blurted out after showing him one of my many colorful new accessories. We share car rides to and from work (well, school for him) and he’s usually giving my chosen bling a slightly puzzled once over.

Inspired by Marla’s latest accessories post, I decided to share some of the jewelry I’ve been wearing on repeat lately.

The shortest necklace was from my dad when I graduated 7th grade, the middle one is from Avon, and the longest one I bought on a trip recently to Singapore.

This plastic H&M elephant ring prompted my brother’s outburst.

Neon bracelet from Forever 21 and a ring from Singapore that I plan to wear together for a maximum neon overdose.

Totally looking forward to wearing these guys non-stop over the coming summer

Day at the Beach by conversationbreak

I just came from a fantastic vacay in Albay. I’ve already declared my love for it 3 years ago, so I won’t get into the details of how much I still love it.

Instead, please answer this question: What do you pack for the beach? I used to bring this huge duffel bag with me on trips when I realized I could make do with a relatively smaller bag. On this trip, I went with lightweight tops, easy breezy dresses, cutoffs, and a bikini! My bag weighed a total of 4 kg! Ha!

I’m going to the beach again in March and April so I’m trying to plan what to bring. Let me know what you pack for the beach so we can swap notes! (:
