Nailing It

Going to nail salons is one of my favorite indulgences. I like to relax and read while having my nails done. One of my favorite nail salons is I Do Nails because they always play rom-coms and the couches are super comfy so you’ll really feel at ease. I’m so glad they opened another branch in McKinley Hill and it’s just as nice as their Eastwood branch. Macy and I had a relaxing time last Friday. I got a foot spa and a manicure.

Comfy couches and pretty wall decor.

Lots of polish to choose from. I love that they have Deborah Lippmann ones too!

Nicole (our former Beauty Editor at large) convinced me to try nail stamping. I’m a bit scared of nail art, so I got a super subtle rose accent on my index finger. I have to say I’m loving it so far! I also found it super cute that I Do Nails will lend you rings for your hand selfies. :)  I borrowed that cute bow ring from them. Can’t wait to go back to try other nail art designs!

Your resident beauty junkie,

I Do Nails is located at Ground floor, Building 1, Tuscany at McKinley Hill, Upper McKinley Road, McKinley Hill, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.  You can also book an appointment through 09178388095.

Steph’s Mid Year Resolutions

I’ve been neglecting my new year’s resolutions so I decided to make new ones.  After all, it’s never too late to make a change, right?  :x

1. Read more books. I have to admit I’m still on a TFIOS hangover. I’ve re-read the book since I watched the movie and I’m looking for new things to read. Next on my list are Anna and the French Kiss and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.

2. Take better care of my skin. I’ve always been a skincare junkie and *gulp* I really had to save up for this set. I’ve been using it for a new weeks now and people have commented that my skin does look more glowing. I guess sometimes it pays to splurge on certain things like skincare and scrimp on makeup and clothes.

3. Eat more healthy food. I recently tried Roots Market Bistro with Koko and Patty and we had such a nice time hanging and pigging out. Lol! This vegetarian Aglio Olio was super healthy, but I love the fact that they didn’t scrimp on any ingredients.

Here’s hoping I get to fulfill my mid-year resolutions! :)

I’m really excited about the June issue because 1) TFIOS!  and 2) we’ve got a brand new look! I sincerely hope everyone likes it as much as we do because the pages are more colorful and packed, and it’s also so much fun to read. It’s not just the new design, all the sections are revamped just for YOU. I guess you can say this is Candy 2014. :)

Have you gotten the June issue yet? Tell me what you think—I can’t wait to hear from you!

I <3 Kyochon

Ayessa and I recently visited Kyochon, the newest chicken place to hit the metro. We got to try a bunch of flavors: garlic, hot pepper, rice, and honey. The Honey series has got to be my favorite. It’s the right amount of sweet, crunchy, and salty. My mouth is watering again thinking about all the yummy flavors.  The prices are super affordable (P149 for 5 pieces of chicken wings), the place was super instagrammable (think New York industrial with lots of wood and black and white photos), and all in all it’s a nice hangout place for anyone who loves chicken. :)

Kyochon is located at the Upper Ground Floor of SM Megamall B.

An Intervention

Since I started doing the #100happydays challenge (currently on day 63!) I’ve been posting more religiously on Instagram. I was getting bored with my usual filters and effects because I post more than usual now. Enter my current app obsession: Line Camera.

I’m super obsessing over the Cherry Coco stamps and stickers (Sam even said I kind of look like her heehee) and started buying (eep!) them to decorate my photos. They instantly make any photo more kawaii, and more interesting. But starting today I vow to stop and I’m blogging about it as an intervention—please stop me from buying any more stickers!

:x Steph
