It has always been hard for me to find a hair stylist worth going back to. I usually have good first-time haircuts, but will feel disappointed during my next visit. So I was so happy to finally find a hair stylist and salon that I absolutely love!

I always get the ultimate salon experience at You in Bonifacio High Street. Their head stylist, Mr. YS, is a super cool Japanese hairdresser, who will make sure you are a happy customer during every visit. He follows exactly what you ask for—whether you want a radical change, an easy update, or a simple trim—and makes sure you look fab either way.

A haircut with Mr. YS is quite an experience on its own. During my first time there, he explained every step of his technique by making a drawing of my hair on the mirror in front of me. Then he whipped out his scissors and started cutting in a really interesting and unique manner. I don’t know how to describe it but you should definitely see it for yourself—it’s actually fun just to watch him work! :)

While you’re at the salon, you should also try their Korean Foot Spa. It’s super relaxing, and not as ticklish as the other treatments I’ve tried. Hehe! My feet became very soft, smooth, and happy. :)

So if you’re due for a salon day soon, make sure to try this one out! You won’t regret it. :)

You Salon is at the B3 section of Bonifacio High Street, Taguig City. Call 818-1968, 818-4968, or 0928-3520700 for appointments or inquiries.

Still Hung Over on JT

Yes, I know I have already declared my undying love for Justin Timberlake to you guys. But I just HAVE to share my awesome experience!

March 26, 2010, the day before the Changing Lives concert, I was at the Mall of Asia area attending an exhibit with my boyfriend, Conrad. It ended early so we decided to take our chances and go to Sofitel in search of my lifelong crush (good thing my boyfriend was supportive about it). We asked some of the bellboys and hotel staff if Justin was within the premises, but all of them said that he had left. Oh well. What are the chances of bumping into him anyway, right? So Conrad and I decide to just chill for a while and walk around the pool area, when—OMG!—out of no where, Justin and his entourage walk right in front of us! OMG. I was totally shocked. Justin looked at us and smiled then walked inside the hotel’s empty restaurant. I seriously died. I thought I was dreaming! So Conrad and I waited until he was done with his late lunch so that I could take a picture with him. This is me, not-so-patiently waiting. That’s one of his bodyguards behind me.

I was praying the whole time because his bodyguards told us he’s not allowed to take any pics at all! But see what prayers can do:

I still can’t believe it! Justin was really nice and even shook the hand of my boyfriend before he left! Yes, I was a bit jealous and wished I shook JT’s hand, too. Hehe.

The concert was totally awesome and fun! I’m happy that I got to watch with Conrad, my siblings, and my cousins.

I felt like Justin was serenading me, especially while he was singing “Until the End of Time.” I’m crazy and I know it. Hehe.

I would have seriously climbed over the barricades to reach for Justin if security wouldn’t kick me out of the concert.

All in all, it was a dream come true, and a story I’ll be telling my grandkids someday. Justin, hope you come back to Manila soon! We all love you!

I still can’t believe that Justin Timberlake is coming to the Philippines! He’s coming to my home! I’ve been a fan ever since his ‘NSync days and I can’t wait to be able to watch him live again.

I was lucky enough to see one of his concerts in New Jersey in 2006—right after he released the Future Sex Love Sounds album. I watched with my older sister, and we were screaming our lungs out the whole time. It was an awesome show! JT is really one of the best performers I’ve ever seen live. I love how you can see that he’s just having fun on stage.

Timbaland also came out during that concert—he and JT make a great duo! Here’s a video I took of a cool mix they did of “Promiscuous Girl” and “Sexy Back.” Please excuse my shaky hand and screaming. Hehe.

I can’t describe how excited I am to watch their concert here! How can you go wrong with all these amazing artists in 1 night?  My sisters and I bought tickets as soon as we found out about it. All 3 of us are ENORMOUS Justin fans and are praying that we get to meet him somehow. We’ve already been rehearsing our “what-if-I-get-to-meet-JT” lines. Hehe. I still can’t think of anything that sounds original though. Any suggestions? :)

Leave a comment if you’re a JT fan like me! :) Hope to see you at the concert on March 27! Wheeeeeeee!

Hey, DJ!

Hello friends!!!

I just checked my one and only previous blog entry in the site and I realized that it's been 7 months since! Oh no!!! I've got a lot of catching up to do… :s

Let me start by telling you guys what I did with the Candy girls yesterday. I went on my FIRST EVER radio tour! I was a bit reluctant when Mia told me that I should go. Actually, reluctant isn't the right word… I was more TERRIFIED than anything else! I just knew that I would stutter and get brain dead the moment the DJ would ask me to say something. But with the support of my Candy sisters, I decided to just go for it! There’s always a first time for everything. :)

So I woke up EXTRA early yesterday in order to be at the office at 7am. Mimi, Angel and I headed to 99.5 HIT FM first, and were greeted warmly by DJs Tin, Sam Oh, Cristina and Benny. While my brain AND eyes were still in their "just woke up" mode, these 4 DJs were already so lively and giddy. I loved how they were all just having fun, and how it seemed like they were just a bunch of friends talking to each other, and just happen to be on air! They made it easy for me to loosen up and not be so tense about the whole thing.

We then proceeded to Wave 89.1 and met DJ George. She was very friendly as well. We loved the movie posters around her booth (especially Kung Fu Panda and Meet the Spartans).

Lastly, we visited DJ Boom and guest Reema on Magic 89.9. All the girls were warning me about Boom and how he asks random questions that put you on the spot! True enough, Boom grilled me on air about topics on boys and first dates! That's what I get for being  the "newbie"! I was sweating in the hot seat! Hehe! But nonetheless, everything turned out to be a super fun experience.

I’m glad that I got to visit the different stations and see what goes on “behind the scenes”. I still had a few boo-boos and “stunned” moments on-air, but I think (or, I hope!) it was pretty good for my first time. :)

Hoping to tell you guys more of my Candy adventures soon!

Rain or Shine?

Hi Candy girls!

Allow me to introduce myself to the "blogging world"… I'm Margaux, the new fashion assistant of Candy, and this is my first time ever to blog here! Yup, I had to make kulit to almost all of the Candy staff and ask step-by-step directions on how to do it. Heehee… (Thanks guys!)

As my first entry, I'd like to share some funny behind-the-scenes stories from one of the August issue's fashion editorial. Have you all seen the "Bright and Shiny" rain wear pages? :) First of all… A rain shoot is supposed to be gloomy right? Well… It was the sunniest day of the year! Our photographer, Ocs faced quite a challenge in making the picture look as dark as possible. But it turned out OK — we were just wet with sweat from working under the burning sun instead of wet from working with actual rain. I cant decide which would have been better! :) Another funny secret… For the shoot, we had no water supply to create rain! The solution? 1.5 liter water bottles with punched holes on the cap, filled with water from the sink. Mia and I had fun squirting away right next to the models (see the first and last pictures).

Here's a pic of the team during the shoot… That's Mia, Nicolette and Isa (models), Ogie (hair stylist), me (check out the water bottle I'm holding!), and Angie (makeup arist), while waiting for the rain which never came. :)

Well, rain or shine, we all had tons of fun and laughs during the shoot! 'Til the next one! :)

Make Your Dreams Come True

by angel, 2015-04-24

I'm a big believer in the power of visioning and positive thinking to make your dreams happen. Back in high school, we were assigned to write about what kind of work we wanted to...

QUIZ: Which Emma Is Your Spirit Animal? You can never go wrong with an Emma, but do you know which one is your spirit animal?
