I fell in love with a planner three years ago. It was a pink one with the prettiest pattern. In between the pages, there were prints that matched the cover. The following year, the Candy Girls gave the 2011 edition to me for my birthday. And late last year, I knew I had to get it again to make plans for 2012. So it’s no surprise that I had to wait till the very last day of the year to finally get my hands on the planner for 2013. And now, I can’t wait to fill it with all the amazing things this year has to offer.

I know it’s pretty early in the year (Day 1!) to declare that it’s already going to be awesome, but I’d like to do that now. Because more often than not, things will go your way when you make a conscious effort to make them do so. I’ve always tried my best to be a positive thinker. To see the silver lining. To know that even when you’re at the bottom of the pit, there is always a way out of it. And that’s why at the end of the year—no matter how bad it gets—I can still acknowledge how blessed I truly am.

So get that list of resolutions and make them happen. Don’t say you’ll do it tomorrow, get your running shoes on and do that 3km jog you promised yourself you’d do after shoving that last piece of cake last night. Want to write that future Summit Book? Type the first word and you’ll be on your way to that bestseller. Want to see your favorite band in concert? Start saving up! Want to graduate at the top of your class? Map out a study plan and act on it. Just take it one day at a time and you’ll find that it’s easy to follow-through. (:
