It was exactly a year and a month ago when I bucket-listed a Foster the People concert. Funny how the universe works—I just had the most amazing time at their Manila concert last Saturday!

My friend Jean and I danced and head-banged to our hearts’ content—while doing a balancing act on top of chairs—never mind that we looked ridiculous compared to our less fanatic seatmates. The music was so good, they were much better live, and there was such a great vibe from the whole place, like everyone knew and felt how special the whole experience was. And can I just say how cool the set design and opening act Techy Romantics were?

I’m not the type to sing in public, but I couldn’t help singing (more like screaming) along to FTP’s songs. “And then you take it away!” “Sometimes I wanna disappear!” “I took a sip of something poison, but I’ll hold on tight!” The whole thing was just a musical, emotional catharsis that I didn’t know I needed until then. #drama

Expectation, meet much better reality.
