I got this Cath Kidston Crochet Book for 20% off at a bookstore in Bangkok. I was really sad I couldn’t afford anything at the CK store, so I was pleasantly surprised when my friend pointed out this entire pile of DIY books by Cath Kidston. I was drawn to this one in particular because of the lovely book-shaped tin it came in. Plus, my mom was the one who taught me how to crochet, which makes me happy.

It came with 6 rolls of yarn, a crochet needle, a booklet of all the basic chains, and a pattern for a Granny Square Cushion.

I finally had time to open it up and attempt to start the pattern. Unfortunately, I think whoever typed up the instructions might have mixed up the pattern. But thank goodness for the Internet and for equally crochet-obsessed friends, I managed to figure out how to do it.

It’s nowhere near perfect, but I’m actually excited to see it completed. Some reviews online said there’s not enough yarn for the cushion so I’m hoping there’s enough for the 9 squares at least so it can masquerade for a blanket for my best friend’s baby. (:

Or if not, they can make for pretty coasters too, yeah?
