So it’s been a truly musical week for me. After I watched The Phantom of the Opera, my love for musicals has re-awakened. I busted out my old Broadway CD collections, including soundtracks of Les Miserables, Rent, Wicked, and Miss Saigon and have been listening to them nonstop. There is just something so magical and inspiring about a musical with a great storyline and songs to match.

Last night, I was so lucky I got to catch another spectacular musical: The King & I at Resorts World’s Newport Performing Arts Theater. It was truly a visual feast! And here are some photos to prove it.

Check out the beautifully designed costumes of the King (Leo Tavarro Valdez), Anna (Monique Wilson), and the adorable royal children. Anna and the King’s costumes were designed by Rajo Laurel.

The grand sets make us believe we are truly in 19th Century Siam (now Thailand).
