Every time a new set of beauty samples lands on my desk, I find myself filled with equal parts excitement and worry. Excitement because of course I want to experience all those pretty products so that we can feature the very best of them in our monthly beauty pages, and worry because slowly but surely, my work area is beginning to look like a cosmetics counter at the mall.

This, however, is nothing a little sharing (at the Candy HQ, everyone’s kind of a beauty junkie, and our Council of Cool girls always bring home some loot at the end of every meeting), cleaning, and rearranging won’t fix. The photo above shows the current survivors of Marla’s Great Beauty Stuff Organization Attempt: Tony Moly’s Backstage Wonder Style Box (sparkly eyeshadow and nude blush), Revlon’s Fearless nail polish for last-minute manicures, Avon’s concealer stick for peace of mind, Revlon’s Colorstay gel liner in Charcoal (super flattering!), The Body Shop Born Lippy toffee balm (smells and tastes so good that it takes an ocean of resolve not to gobble it up), and Maybelline’s Mauve-ulous lipstick for when I’m pretending to be a sophisticated adult instead of the little-girl-for-life I truly am.
