Some weeks ago I got a message from Young Star’s editor Raymond. He asked if I’d be interested to be in a feature on young people who have helped work on the big September issues that will hit newsstands in a couple of days.

When I heard my friend MJ from Preview also got the message, I joked with her, “Who can resist a day’s worth of broadsheet fame?!” (But, really?!)

This guy looks oddly familiar…

Here are a few things from my bit:

On whether this is something I’ve always wanted: “When I was much younger I wanted to be a painter or a pop star. I’m not talented enough though for those kinds of careers.”

On what a busy day is like: “The days leading up to a fashion shoot are always the busiest. Aside from the main job styling the shoot, I have to make sure the logistical details come together smoothly, with zero to very, very few hiccups.”

On how I see Candy in 10 years: “Candy is great where it is now. Hopefully it’s the same fun and sincere magazine the Candy readers have come to love.”

On what I love about my job: “The nature of the job itself suits me very well. As soon as one shoot starts, I’m already thinking about the one for next month. I love that it forces me to always set my sights on the future, and move on.”

On my ‘editor peg’: “Vogue’s Tonne Goodman. She’s a hippie and a minimalist at heart.”
