13 The Musical is the story of Evan Goldman, a 12-year-old Jew who’s about to turn thirteen in a completely different neighborhood where he knows, well, nobody. Here are a few lessons we think you’ll pick up from watching this play.

13 reminds you all about growing up—the good things and the bad.

1. Fitting in.  If you’ve ever transferred houses, switched schools, or even moved countries, you probably know how hard it is to adjust not just to your environment but most especially to the people you interact with. Of course you’ll try to act cool but sometimes, your idea of cool might not exactly turn out the way you expect it to.Sometimes, you forget about the important things when you get caught up in trying to be like the rest.
2. Peer pressure.In an effort to be with the in crowd, Evan ultimately hurts the people who care about him. Do you ever find yourself doing something just because everyone is doing it? When you only think of yourself, you tend to forget that your actions can affect other people.
   Growing up is about discovery!
3. Expect the unexpected. If you stop planning everything that goes on in your life and just let things happen, you’ll be surprised to discover a lot of things about yourself and about others.
