The first time I remember being bullied was back in prep. My batch mate/ballet classmate would come over, look at me in a mean way, and then pinch me. It happened more than once. I never understood why she did it, but looking back, it seemed she was insecure about being the smallest girl in class and had to compensate by scaring others. It was strange because her height never really mattered to me. I was too busy learning the ballet moves to care about her. But what she did always stayed with me, and as we grew up, I would always be wary of her.

I’m sure some of you have worse bullying stories, and the ugly feelings that go with these memories never seem to go away. This is ultimately why we, the Candy Team, felt the need to take a stand against bullying and why we want you to sign our anti-bullying pact. Even your favorite celebrities have experienced bullying. Aside from signing the anti-bullying pact, let’s make a real effort to stop bullies from hurting others. If you see someone being bullied by a classmate, do something to stop it. If you bash someone online, know that anonymity doesn’t make you a better person. In the end, it’s all about making the world a better place to live in for everyone. We need all the positivity we can get!
