Day in the Life of Candy
Guess who’s the lucky girl who got to see The Hunger Games twice for work? Me! Awesome job is awesome. Thank you, National Bookstore and Alcatel! Before I go any further, let’s just get this out of the way: SPOILER ALERT, SPOILER ALERT, SPOILER ALERT.
I’m a huge fan of the books—except I want to forget the epilogue ever existed—and I’m so happy the movie lived up to expectations. It’s fresh and gritty and jolting and well designed and so faithful to the book.
Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth weren’t my top choices for the trio, but the movie made me a believer. Yes, Jennifer isn’t as skinny as book Katniss, but she has captured her essence so well. I love how she moves and how expressive her eyes are; the only time they look dead is when she lies to Peeta about getting the medicine.
I’m on Team Gale, but, man, Josh is amazing, just so Peeta. One of my favorite scenes is the one in the car after the Reaping, when Josh expresses how devastated his character is in just a few seconds, without saying anything.
And how about Liam? His total screen time was like 10 minutes, but I was all, OHAIIIIII SWEETIE! I dunno about you but the two times I saw the movie, the audience was aww-ing and giggling whenever he popped up onscreen. Those reaction shots are genius.
Have you seen the movie? What do you think? Did you dress up as a tribute or Capitol resident? Share your stories below!

I have! I watched it last March 21. I’ve read the books too and I think the movie was adapted well from the book. But I really think I have to watch it again. That’s all. :”) Wait, lastly, JOSH was amazing! I adore him to bits and pieces!
