When the month of September rolls around, I know the Mooncake Festival is coming up because:

1) A ton of mooncakes in assorted flavors arrive at the house…

…and 2) It’s time to play the Mooncake Dice Game!

The game was introduced to me by my Chinese friends who have been doing it every year as a family tradition to celebrate the Mooncake Festival (also known as the Mid-Autumn or Moon Festival). Each player gets to roll six dice. The different combinations you get result in different prizes.

This year, I got a chance to play the game twice. First—in Iloilo with the Candy Girls!

In the end, Bianca emerged as the big winner, but we all got to take home a few bills!

My next round of dice games was with my college friends. This time, prizes consisted of assorted snacks, drinks, and goodies!

It was my first time to win the grand prize! Guess I was lucky that day. Woot!
