Will You Share A Notebook?
October 8th, 2009Every summer, my mountaineering friends and I organize the Big Brother Big Sister project, where we give backpacks and school supplies to kids in far-flung areas in the mountains. When Typhoon Ondoy struck two weeks ago, we decided to organize another one this year for kids who were affected by the floods.
365 students of Eastern Star Academy in San Mateo, Rizal lost everything in the flood. Typhoon Ondoy took their books, notebooks, and school items. The flood has subsided and the students will resume school on Monday, October 12. The question on each student’s mind is: “How do I go back to school with nothing?”
Yes, they can share books for the meantime…
No, they can not share a notebook with their classmates…
But you can share a notebook with them… WILL YOU?
For only P 120, you can give one student the notebooks and writing pads that the flood has rendered useless. We need to raise P 45,000 to help all 365 children. Will you share a notebook?
