Day in the Life of Candy

Table for Four

I love working at Summit! Aside from the lovable Candy girls, I’ve made a bunch of amazing friends who I regularly hang out with. Some of them have resigned already (like Ines who’ll always be my Messy Bestie), but the ones who came back and/or are still here make going to work such a fun chore (it doesn’t hurt when they have the best snacks or juiciest news to share!).

Last night, I ate at Nomnomnom with Jo, Koko, and Maggie. Here’s a little history about our gang: Jo used to be the webmaster of Candymag.com—that’s how we met and became friends! We’d eat warmed Figaro chocolate cake every day as merienda back when the office was still in Galleria! The first time I met Koko was when I was 13 years old! She’s actually friends with my sister and is now Candy’s newest publisher. It’s her longtime dream to handle our mag, so I’m so excited that she’s finally on board. Last but not the least, Maggie used to be my neighbor when she worked for Cosmo. She’s K-Zone’s awesomest EIC and my fave premiere buddy (we get invited to the same ones, so her über-early, sweet Mom always saves me seats. Aww!).

Anyway, back to my dinner story… You won’t believe how much food we ordered last night! We each ordered our own meals and two other dishes to share. Some were so-so, but the VST (tomatoes with stuffing) and Malinomnom pizza were quite tasty! Here I am making a happy face with my pizza slice.

Not only that, we also ordered two bottles of flavored teas, hemp popcorn (which created strange side effects on some of us. Haha!), as well as dessert. I feel bad for our popcorn because they didn’t fit on our table and had to be parked on another one!

The cookie ice cream dessert had the most hilarious name: Boom Chikka Wawa. It wasn’t as ginormous as I hoped it would be, but then again, we were so full that we didn’t get to finish the whole thing. I think kids will love this because of the colorful sprinkles.

Looking at the photos makes me wonder where we’ll eat next. I can’t wait for another gastronomical adventure with my friends!

Hey Mi, it’s near Tomas Morato. It’s actually in the corner before Tomas. Forgot the street name but it’s the street of St. Luke’s Hospital. Instead of turning left to the hospital, you turn right.

Angel, yeah! Winner names. I got distracted looking at the menu nga and couldn’t decide what to order. In the end, I picked that pine nut pasta (forgot the name) which was super spicy. Even for me!
