Last Friday, the Candy team had our final dinner at The Venue with the Council of Cool 8. After we ate, the girls shared what they loved most about being part of the Council and revealed some of their most memorable moments.

After the evaluation, the girls surprised us with a sweet gift. They called it “The Little Black Book,” where they shared their messages for each of the Candy editors. They also wrote about their best COC memories, what they learned from being in the Council, and why they’ll always be Candy girls.
Some of us got teary-eyed while reading it (Roch and Steph especially!). ;_;

To the COC8, I just wanted to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU again for your sweet and thoughtful gift. I got a chance to take it home over the weekend and I couldn’t stop reading it. (I read it from cover to cover. Haha!) It’s amazing how you guys remember all the little details of our interactions. I’m glad you appreciate what we do and that you’ve gained a lot from the COC experience. Reading your entries reminded me of why I love working for Candy and why I am still here after three years!

Here is my best memory with you guys: Definitely the hotspots food shoot (watch out for it in the October ish!). I love anything to do with food and trying all those new places and seeing you guys all perky and happy was so fun! Thanks for letting me feel like part of the COC8 for a day. Meetings are also fun because I love hearing your comments, inputs, and creative ideas. They really help us A LOT.

Here’s what I learned from the COC: That Candy girls really are good, kind-hearted, talented people, and that what we do makes a real, concrete difference. After all, more than just a job, we are really doing this for you, our loyal readers… And nothing is more fulfilling than knowing we’ve helped you, not just with the articles we write, but with helping you during shoots, editing your work, and more.

This is not goodbye. I’m sure I will still be e-mailing you assignments and seeing you at events (Candy Fair!!!). Thank you also for making this year a fun and memorable one for us. Good luck on your next endeavors. I believe that you will all go places and fulfill your dreams. Just don’t forget your dear Candy eds when you get there.
