One Night Only!
Friday, August 29th, 2008If Nick O’Leary and Norah Silverberg (of novel-turned-movie Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist) were both Pinoys and out and about on August 30 in search of the most rockin’ concert, no doubt they’d be off to attend The Eraserheads’ much-awaited reunion gig.
After encountering some major hurdles, the once-rumored rock concert is definitely on! However, if the alternative band only sounds vaguely familiar to you (shame on you…), then maybe these song titles will clue you in on just how popular they were back in the ‘90s: “Ligaya,” “Ang Huling El Bimbo,” “With A Smile,” “Spolarium,” and “Magasin” (my favorite!).

The E-Heads: Buddy Zabala, Raimund Marasigan, Ely Buendia, and Marcus Adoro.
“Eraserheads: The Reunion” is slated to take place at the Bonifacio Global City Open Field tomorrow. The gates will open at 3 pm, and tickets are sold at P800 and P1300 (you can buy your ticket at the venue). For ticket reservation, you can also call TicketWorld at 891-9999 or log on to www.ticketworld.com.ph and www.radiohead.ph.
Rock on!

Priceless Treasures
Thursday, August 28th, 2008Last weekend, I went on a trip to Pampanga and found three things to be amazed about.
1. Trekking to Mt. Pinatubo’s crater lake with my college buds. From the town, we rode a 4×4 to Pinatubo for about an hour, then trekked for two and a half hours to get to the crater. We literally walked over sand and rocks, crossed small streams, and hiked through a vast expanse of lahar. Since none of my friends are mountaineers, the experience was new to them. Though they complained half the time and vowed never to do it again (I said that too the first time I climbed a mountain!), I was glad to be able to share the experience with them. Getting to the top, seeing the breathtaking view of the lake, eating a hearty meal, and immersing our tired bodies in the water was a priceless experience.

Behind the scenes with AJ
Wednesday, August 27th, 2008Yes, you got that right! AJ Perez is on the cover of the hottest issue this year! We had so much fun during the cover shoot and we know AJ did, too. Here are some behind-the-scene pics Macy took during the shoot (I was busy taking videos so i wasn’t able to take snapshots :P).

Crushcrushcrush
Tuesday, August 26th, 2008So, let’s talk about crushes.
My very first crush was way back in the fifth grade. He was my classmate, but we were both very shy and rarely talked to each other. I liked him because he was cute, smart, and had nice handwriting—but mostly because I found out that he had had a crush on me since the third grade. Hehe. (Hey, don’t judge me—I was only eleven!) I don’t know where he is now, because we lost touch when he moved away to a place way up North, a place we shall hide under the codename City of Pines. Hahaha! I’d like to be able to talk to him now and ask him how he’s doing, and probably thank him for seeing in me somebody worth admiring even when I had bad hair and clothes that never seemed to hug my skinny frame and was a total weirdo who wrote poems about the colors of the rainbows in the palm of my hand shining in the sand (I kid you not). I’d also like to ask him this: “If you met me now, instead of twelve years earlier, would you still like me?” And then maybe we can finally be friends.

Week of Wonder
Friday, August 22nd, 2008Sorry for the corny title. I couldn’t think of anything else! Hehe… but anyway, here are some of the things that gave me a high the past week.
1. Attending the Panorama Jamfest with my friends last Saturday. The theme was “world music” and one of my fave bands, Makiling Ensemble, was there. Have you heard of them? Their music is amazing! It’s a mix of ethnic music, with classical, pop, and jazz influences. I particularly love the violin infusion. Download some of their songs or give them a listen here. You won’t be disappointed!
