Day in the Life of Candy

Hey, Candy girls!

Let me tell you about all the awesome things that transpired on this amazing day.

It didn't really start out great as shown in this picture (I'm with Lou, who's also from Summit). We were pretty bummed out that we had to wait so long for the Maroon 5 press con to start.

But the wait was definitely worth it when the band walked into the room. They were all smiles! MCA Universal awarded them a platinum record for their album It Won't Be Soon Before Long.

I didn't get to ask the band my question (Mimi and I thought of asking them why they waited so long to get their sophomore album out—did they get intimidated by people's expectations since their first album was such a hit?), but check it out, Adam so wanted me to ask a question. HAHA! In my dreams!

After the press con, Mimi and I posed with our passes (which we had to return after, haha). It was also a mini-reunion for me and my Speech Comm course mates, too! Golda works for Viva and Robelle works for Araneta. It was great bumping into them!

I wasn't going to watch the concert, but out of nowhere, my friend sent me a message to ask if I wanted to watch Maroon 5 because she had an extra ticket! I remember replying, "OMG YES PLEASE."

They opened with "If I Never See Your Face Again" and sang songs from both of their albums.

Everyone went wild when they sang "Makes Me Wonder" and even more when they sang "This Love" and "She Will Be Loved."

I got to see the concert with one of my best-est friends Patty and our friends Candice and Barbie. We were squealing like fangirls inside the car on the way to Araneta and going home!

I loved how simple their stage looked. With just these five panels that were colored differently by light for each song. This was my favorite, though. Aren't the colors pretty?

Here's a shot of Jesse Carmichael on keyboards and James Valentine on guitars. I got lucky with this shot of Matt Flynn, who did a great drum solo when they went back for the encore. I love you, Matt! Too bad I wasn't able to take a snap of Mickey.

This was, quite possibly, one of the best concerts I've ever seen in my life! I was so happy that they played "Sunday Morning" (since I knew they probably weren't going to play my favorite songs from the new album). So for seven minutes, I had my arms raised up in the air trying to record the entire thing!

And look at Adam's happy smile. He said it was one of the best concerts they've ever played and that it feels great to be far away from home, but feel right at home, anyway. Mahal ka din namin! We hope you come back!

This day will definitely go down in my history as one of the best days EVER. And I know I probably didn't do it much justice with this blog, but at least I'll have something to remember it by. :)

How about you? What was your best concert experience?

Still reeling,
Macy

I’m sooo happy for you, Mace! I can still feel your kilig vibe until now. :D

Glad you had fun, Mace! You deserve it. And you’re so lucky you got to watch for free. A very great surprise indeed. You should grant favors for your friend who gave you that ticket. Hahaha!

As for the best day ever part, I feel the same way whenever I remember watching Coldplay. I was literally on a high for about a week or so.

Man, that sounded totally amazing. More pics! More pics!

Wow Mace! You’re sooo lucky! :D

I really love a good concert! It leaves you with a feeling of being on a good high after. My favorite will always be my first concert ever—it was the Alanis Morissette concert back when I was in first year high school! My dad got free 3rd row tickets! I watched it with my best friends and we were so happy because she was so close and we belted out all her songs! :D

Wah! I’m so jealous… hahaha… What a bummer I wasn’t able to go. My parents didn’t allow me although a friend gave my dad 2 tickets(huhu)… But I’m glad it was a success!

As fot the best concert experience? I guess it would have to be the Good Charlotte concert. Although it was years ago pa… It was my first rock concert and I got to spend it with 5 of my best-friends! haha… XD

My best concert ever was my all-time favorite band Switchfoot! I went alone and I loved that I did! I sang along to every song and didn’t care about anyone else! =)

So happy for you, Mace! (Even if I kept saying I hated you girls, hehe.) Mimi’s right, you totally deserve this. :)

I watched the Maroon 5 concert here in the US and let me tell you, i don’t think they told us that it was the best concerts they’ve ever played. They really meant it when they said that to you then ;-)

I’m still having LSS of “Won’t Go Home without You” the way Adam sang it with the Araneta crowd. :)

Definitely one of the best ones I’ve attended ever. It was surreal. :)

I’m watching Incubus tonight and that’s my favorite band so I’m ten times more excited! :)

I won't deny it: I spend way too much time online. Mostly I'm just stalking people on Facebook and Instagram, other times I'm doing something more useful like reading articles...
