7 signs that you should stop obsessing over HP 7
Tuesday, July 31st, 20071. Every night, before you go to sleep, you still try to analyze book 7. Why did those things happen? What was the point of all those deaths? What will happen to the characters beyond the epilogue? Is all really well?
2. Your dad tells you he wants to buy a new dog, and you beg him to name it Albus. He says no, so you contemplate re-naming your existing family dog instead.
3. You have not seen your best-est friend in months, and when she visits you at home, the first thing you tell her is, "You will NOT believe what happened to Harry!"
4. Random-bordering-on-useless Potter-related questions (such as, "What was the first sentence of the first chapter of the first book?") pop into your head at random times of the day, and you cannot work/study properly until these questions are answered. You log on to Wikipedia for details, but you just end up even more confused because of all those links. PS: The answer is, "Mr. and Mrs. Dursley of Number Four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much."
5. You have not picked up another book since finishing Deathly Hallows. You are in denial that the series is over. You say, "Baka naman may book 8 pa." And sometimes, you actually believe it.
6. You found these icons hilarious:

(Icons from this site. DO NOT click on the link if you haven't read the book yet. Major spoilers—you have been warned!)
7. And last but not the least…

You are starting to look like Dobby the house-elf.
I therefore conclude that this HP7 obsession is extremely dangerous to one's health and well-being. I hereby resolve to bring back my life to its regular programming and start being a normal, productive individual again. (Riiight.)
Big magical hugs,
Marla

Mia’s Beauty Boo-boos
Monday, July 30th, 2007I confess—I'm a total beauty junkie. I don't wear makeup everyday, I rarely make an effort to style my hair—and yet am constantly seeking out new products to try and buy. Why this is so, I still don't know. I thought my compulsion was pretty harmless (so what if I have to clean out my vanity monthly?). Until today.
I was so excited to try my newest leave-in conditioner/styling creme. Never mind that I had on standby four others I liked perfectly fine. I put my usual amount of dollops and worked it through my thick hair. While blow-drying my hair, I was already picturing how sleek and shiny my hair would look. Five minutes later, I was still blow-drying, and my hair wasn't getting any drier. I kept checking and checking, yet it was still damp. Finally, I gave up and just decided to let it dry on its own. On my way out, I noticed my hair was looking unusually flat (it's normally quite poofy), so I tied it back in a ponytail.
By the time I got to work, I noticed my head had turned into a total greaseball! Instead of sleek and shiny, I was experiencing the biggest oil slick in history. My bangs looked like clumps and the end of my ponytail felt like it had been dipped in really bad hair gel. Urk! I realized I may have been too eager while applying my new beauty find. And I remembered all my past beauty boo-boos, all caused by the eager-beaver beauty junkie in me:
1) Loving my new stick foundation and extolling its excellence in giving me good coverage—and then seeing a photo of my pasty, practically chalky, super made-up face.
2) Squirting my new tube of mango-scented gloss on my lips for a press lunch, only to be informed by Jennie as soon as I arrived that I had lippie on my teeth (eeek!).
3) Wanting perfectly bright eyes one summer night to go with my new tan, flooding my eyes with eye drops, only to hear a boy laugh and say, "Did you put eye drops? 'Cause you have two white trails going down your cheeks!"
4) Happily using my new lipstick/eye makeup remover to scrub off my lippie, and then regretting it for DAYS afterward when my lips peeled relentlessly.
5) Spritzing on a sophisticated perfume and what I would like to be my signature scent, and then noticing AFTER I get home from a party that I had two very large, very red patches of skin, one on either side of my neck.
And that's just the tip of the iceberg! Do you have beauty boo-boos to share? Let me know so I'll quit feeling like a freak

Friday, July 27th, 2007Hi, everyone!
It’s me, Zel from COC7. I just want to share a glimpse of the fun I had last Sunday, July 22, during Penshoppe’s Sounds of Style (Bamboo’s public launching as Penshoppe’s new ambassadors of style and MYX/Penshoppe’s collaboration for a new clothing style) at TriNoma. (Just click on the thumbnails to view the images!)
When I arrived there, I really thought I wouldn't be able to get in, but my friend who was with me used to work at Penshoppe and her boss let us in! Great start, isn’t it?
The event was hosted by Nikki Gil, Club Pen’s model and MYX VJ. She’s stunningly beautiful—her morena beauty stands out onstage! There were guest bands that afternoon too and the first band that performed was Chicosci. I love them! And honestly, they’re the main reason why I was there. Haha! The people went crazy when the band stepped onstage, especially me! I love watching them perform live, especially when they start to go all over the stage. The happiest part was when Mong looked at me and said “Hi!” and pointed at me while performing! I just smiled. Of course I was super happy deep inside!
Sorry if the pics are a bit blurred, I was singing while taking photos! Haha!
Mong sings!
After a really loud performance by Chicosci, Stonefree serenaded us and made us rest our ears with their beautiful songs. The people really calmed down with their music.
The event was also co-hosted by the MYX VJ finalists. They’re fun and cool. There’s this really interesting part about seeing them there. Here’s the story: Last September 2003, I was already collecting Candy, and that issue was the Candy Cuties special. I always look at that issue and I got the idea of listing the cute guys’ names and looking them up on Friendster. One guy responded to my friend request. His name was Enrico Nacino. I read his profile on Friendster and added him on my YM list. Luckily, he was online when I added him. We chatted for a couple of months until it stopped.
Back to the present time… At TriNoma, there was a guy onstage who was part of the MYX VJ Finalists who really looked familiar. I realized just then that Enrico, the guy I was chatting with almost four years ago was the “Nico” standing in front of the stage and hosting. I was like, “Oh gosh! I know him! I know him!” I said repeatedly to my friend. I approached him after he finished hosting and I told him everything. It was quite fun meeting him after a long time. I felt like were close. Haha!
Nico as a Candy Cutie last September 2003 and now as a MYX VJ in 2007!
Aside from the Candy Cutie/MYX VJ finalist Nico, we got to talk and hang out with the other finalists. They’re so nice! We even stayed with them while Bamboo was performing! Here are some pictures of me with the wacky finalists!
Bamboo performs really well. And the fact that they play and look good makes them fit to be Penshoppe’s new ambassadors of style.
Everybody Loves Bamboo!
I also met Club Pen Models Dawn Balagot and Matteo Guidicelli during the event. I got to talk to them for quite a while and it was really fun!
Do I need to say he’s sooooooo adorable?
Dawn’s super pretty! I was happy meeting her now ‘coz I didn't get to meet her at the Candy Fair where she hosted last year.
And finally, after a loooooong happy day…. I had a cup of McFloat and Large Fries!
Oh, and of course, thanks to my partner in crime Anne for bringing me there! *smooches*
Thanks guys for reading my blog entry! So now, I’m gonna ask you a Penshoppe question, “What have you learned today?” Tell me! It will be fun!
xoxo,
Zel Ü

I <3 Dad
Thursday, July 26th, 2007My dad’s not perfect, but I love him just the same. I love him because:
1) He’s quite a character.
Scenario: Right after dinner
Me: Hmm… I think I want some dessert.
A, my younger bro: Me too! Let’s buy some Krispy Kremes.
Mom: You’re going out?
Dad: (pounds on the table and shouts) Avocado! Avocado!
Everyone: (turns to him) HUH?
Apparently, mom bought him avocado that afternoon and he was offering it to us. But instead of asking coherently, he decides acting like a Neanderthal would get our attention. Sadly, it worked. But we couldn’t understand if he wanted us to get him some or if he was just screaming random fruits.
2) He makes us laugh without trying.
Scenario: Inside a hotel room, in another country
Mom: (returns from a shopping spree) Dad? Where are you?
Dad: (shouts from the toilet) In here.
Mom: (enters and finds dad in the bath tub without water) What are you doing there?
Dad: I didn’t know how to change the room temperature, so I decided to just sleep in here because it’s colder.
3) He writes sweet notes.
When we were growing up, we’d get our weekly allowance from him. All four kids would have separate stapled bills accompanied by jokes. Aside from that, he’d put, “I love you 3x a day,” which I think came from an old Jimmy Santos movie.
The years have passed and I don’t get allowance anymore, but I still get heartfelt letters from him on my birthdays. He writes his hopes for me and reassures me that everything will turn out great—no matter what happens!
My dad, my brother, and I at Mom and Tina’s (they say the three of us look alike. What do you think?)
Anyway… BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAD!!!
I may never admit it, but I hope I (as well as my brothers and sister) become as quirky, funny, and sentimental as you are. And hopefully, my future kids would love me just the same.
MWAH!
Mimi

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007Hi everyone! This is Marilyn de Mesa of the Council of Cool 7. This time around, I’ll share something about my schoolmates.
Last Friday was a special night for students under the Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management (ITHM) of the University of Santo Tomas. Everyone from freshmen to seniors gathered at Le Pavillion in Pasay for their general assembly dubbed MasqueRave ’07: Strengthening the Ties of Tourism and HRM. It is a masquerade and rave party combined—a really incredible way to welcome the academic year. At first I felt weird because I, an Arts and Letters student, was surrounded with people I usually only bump into at the carpark in the University (meaning I don’t know a lot of people from ITHM). But this event somehow welcomed me to their world, a colorful one at that.
Here are some photos during the event:

Here I am striking a pose with hosts Michael Uy and Mika Callanta (who is a UST Tourism fresh graduate!).
Everyone surely had a blast that night, so kudos to the people behind this successful event! MasqueRave ’07 was made possible by the ITHM Student Council in cooperation with the HRM Society and Student Tourism Society. Also, I would also like to express my deepest gratitude to Baby Ruth Palomares, ITHM secretary and project head of the event, for the warm welcome.
Fellow Thomasians, congratulations and see you around USTe! Cheers to the academic year ahead of us!
Love,
Marilyn
