HSM Mania
Friday, June 22nd, 2007Hey, Candy Girls!
Marla, Mimi, Mia, and I are watching High School Musical—the Pinoy version—at the Meralco theater tonight and I'm sooo excited! I can't wait to see our fave cutie Sam Concepcion play the role of Troy Bolton, and sweet gal Cheska Ortega as Gabriella Montez. I wonder if their version will be as good as—if not better—than the original.
The other reason why I'm really excited to watch HSM is because we were there to witness all the behind the scenes action, from the auditions to the rehearsals. I want to see if all their practicing bore fruit. Haha!
That's Marla, Macy, Mimi, me, and Maita of Total Girl mag at the beginning of the auditions. I don't remember if we were annoyed or just bored, since we were making all these funny faces!
Our trusty photog Dakila caught us trying to take pictures of our reflections on the mirror!

Can you see us in the background?

These girls get ready to perform their dance number at the auditions.
The judges don't look impressed.
When the grueling auditions were over, rehearsals began! Their first lesson? Dance!
The girls try some of the moves. (Can you spot Candy Teen Model search finalist Janeena Chan behind Cheska?)

Let's do some shoulder rolls!
Looks like Candy Cutie PJ, who plays Ryan Evans, fell asleep while learning the steps. Good thing his "sister" Alex, who plays Sharpay Evans, is as energetic as ever!
So what are you waiting for? Catch High School Musical at the Meralco Theater from June 22 to July 15. For tickets, call 818-1111 local 209. (For more behind the scenes pics, flip to page 42 of your June ish!)

Let me know what you think after you've watched it and we'll be sure to tell you our comments too! Have a good weekend! :)
Breaking free,
Angel

Thursday, June 21st, 2007Hey, Candy girls!
Uh… I’m here at the Summit headquarters squatting on Mimi’s spot and waiting for Margaux to deliver me Jay Jay’s boots. Tsk, tsk! Jay Jay and I just came from a photo shoot for Candy (can’t spill all the details yet, but it’s coming out really, really soon!), but Mr. Lozano alias Señorito doesn’t carry things without his PA. He almost left his extra set of clothes at the studio, and then forgot about his shoes which he needs to wear for our gig tonight! Sigh… Late na tuloy kami for our gig which is all the way in Alabang, all because of Mr. Lozano’s boots. Tsk tsk tsk…
Anyway, I hope you girls could drop by our gigs. We play every Tuesday at Strumms (9 pm) and every Wednesday at Eastwood City (9 pm). You can also visit our website, thebloomfieldsband.com, join our forums, and post your thoughts!
Oh, our album’s out already so don’t forget to grab a copy!
Signing off…

Ang teleserye ng totoong buhay
Wednesday, June 20th, 2007Totoo nga ba?
It's the last two-week stretch of Pinoy Big Brother Season 2. I haven't been watching up until Monday night when I stumbled upon the PBB2 Thread in TeenTalk. I even watched some LS (That's live stream for you non-fans) videos on YouTube so I could update myself with what's been going on the past few weeks.
When I was still working in ABS-CBN, I would see the ex-house mates of PBB Season 1 walking around the compound. Here in the picture with me (and my former officemate Apols) is JB Magsaysay of PBB Season 1. He was one of the most disliked house mates because of his strategic moves while inside the house. I don't know why he's the only house mate I have a picture with. Hahaha! I think I did this as a favor for Apols, who didn't want to be alone the picture.
In Season 2, there seems to be another house mate who is getting on the nerves of not only the house mates but also the people watching the show. The person I'm talking about is Wendy. She was already voted out some weeks ago but is now back by the magic that is "Balik-Bahay." Now she's wreaking havoc inside the house because people have been nominating her. Can you say bitter?
Angel, Marla, Mimi, Roch, and I were talking about what's been going on inside the house and we all think Wendy's being such a mean girl! She's been saying so many negative things about Bea and Geeann. The only reason we can think of why she's doing this is because they voted for her! Hmph. What a sore loser. So we say, "TEAM GEEANN FOR THE WIN!" Haha! Or actually, maybe even Mickey—we can't stop swooning because he's such an objective and level-headed person.
Wendy keeps talking about being real and being true, but is that what she is in real life? She talks behind people's backs and keeps whining? What if people don't want to confront her because they know better than to get into a cat fight? What do you think? Who's really being real inside the house?
xoxo,
Macy

High School Life
Tuesday, June 19th, 2007When people ask me when was the best time of my life, I would always say that the best were the years I spent in High School. Waking up 5:30 in the morning to get ready for school, going to our tambayan to meet up with my friends before going to class, eat our lunch food during recess time, talk about anything under the sun during lunch breaks, and looking forward for dismissal time to meet up with friends and go to the mall or just hangout anywhere in school. Those were the years when the only problem we would think about is what color of gown to wear for the prom, what to eat with the wide range of food choices with the well-known longest cafeteria in Asia, deal with terror teachers and how to pass Geometry, Trigonometry, and Chemistry. It was really nothing serious. It's just having fun with friends while keeping your grades in constant 80s or 90s. I miss High School. Cheering competitions, Christmas parties, college fairs (which became boring in the latter part of my HS years), just everything about CSA! If only I could have a time machine, I would go back to First Year High School and enjoy each and every moment being a teenager again (but thinking of going through geom, trigo, and chem again gave me a second thought hehe!). But still, High School will forever be the best years of my life.

This was the first group studio pic we had when we were still in First Year High.

These are some of our barkada photos from First Year till Fourth Year! :D
This was taken during our Grad Ball in Diamond Hotel. It was the last time our whole batch got together in one place.. :(
It feels so great to still be in touch with my HS barkada. We know each other too well we even complete each other's sentences. Its so funny that whenever we meet up, we talk about our memories in High School and we just can't stop laughing even though we talk about it all the time. I'll always consider them as my only true friends and they will remain in my heart for the rest of my life.
How about you Candy girls? What do you like most about being in High School?
Missing my Friends,
Roch <3

Beat Monday Blues
Monday, June 18th, 2007The best way to beat the Monday blues? Relive your wonderful weekend! Here’s what had me smiling all weekend:
1. A late-night trip to Fully Booked. I still get a thrill whenever I realize that I can browse and shop for books at midnight. It’s like raiding someone’s very well stocked library when you don’t quite want to sleep yet… and want the night to last forever.
2. Rehashing a busy week with my best pig-out partner. The busier the week, the bigger the meal! This weekend we dished over yummy kebabs—heaven for a meat-and-potatoes girl like me. Juicy meat with burnt veggies—yum-yum in my book!
3. Walking my dog…with my mom and her dog! My mom ended up loving my dog so much that she decided to get one too. That’s baby Bugsy on the left, and that’s my scruffy puppy, Mickey, on the right. They love each other to death and feel bad when they’re apart.
4. Watching our fur balls make a new furry friend. We bumped into another Shih Tzu, Miko, and the three of them had a blast romping around.
5. Unwrapping a bar of Ghirardelli Chocolate I’ve been saving for a lovely Sunday. My bro Dondi, whose sweet tooth’s bigger than mine, gave this to me because he understands how important chocolate is. What a great guy!
