All Apologies

Friday, September 29th, 2006

Hey Candy girls!

I'm guessing you all know by now that the Certified Candy Fair has been postponed indefinitely. (Waah!) I know you're all as bummed as we are, but we have to make sure everything—the grounds, the weather, the booths—will be in perfect order before we push through with it.

No new date has been set yet, but as soon as we find out, we'll let you guys know! So keep visiting the site, okay?

MWAH!
Mimi

I have another game ;D

Wednesday, September 27th, 2006

I know some of you girls who have blogs probably already did this once or twice, but you can always answer again. I'm a fan of great soundtracks so I had fun thinking of my own. :)

If your life was a movie, what would the soundtrack be?

Opening Credits: Papas Fritas' Way You Walk or Outerhope's Learning to Rollerskate

Waking Up: Mae's Tisbury Lane

Falling In Love: Jason Mraz's After an Afternoon or Jason Mraz ♥ Tristan Prettyman's Shy That Way

Fight Song: I can't think of anything more appropriate than Kamikazee's Martyr Nyebera :D

Breaking Up: Frou Frou's Let Go

Making up: Snow Patrol's Chocolate

Life's Ok: Hellogoodbye's Baby, It's Fact (ahhhh I love love love this song)

Mental Breakdown: Imogen Heap's Headlock or Belle and Sebastian's Get Me Away From Here, I'm Dying

Driving: Mae's Last Call

Flashbacks: John Mayer's Comfortable

Happy Dance: edit: Pizzicato Five's Sweet Soul Revue (and apparently, it's Japanese not Korean. Hehe! Thanks, Lynn!) That Korean (?) song. It's so happy. Sweet Soul Revue? I don't know who sang it but I know it kind of sounded like "Kesa hatchimate kakami omite kika tsui plano umanatami koki shtenuten wo-o-woh" HAHAHA :D I have it semi-memorized. I just don't know the title, or who sang it. Dut-du-durut-dut-du

Regretting: Up dharma Down's Oo

Final Battle: Wala akong maisip. Haha!

Death Scene: Aqualung's Just For a Moment

Final Credits: Soulive's (with Dave Matthews) Joyful Girl

Of course if you ask me next month, I could answer this with a whole different set of songs depending on what has happened to me. Hehe!

Btw, we updated Yael's post with pictures! Go check it out.

Oops forgot to sign my name,
Macy

Of VJs and paper clips

Tuesday, September 26th, 2006

Last Friday, Mimi, Macy, and I got to hang out with VJ Max Loong of MTV's Mobbed. He was very nice—and very cute! Mimi actually met him in Singapore a couple of months ago when she interviewed him for Guy Firsts (his super sweet story is in our October issue), so when we entered the room, Max went, "Hey, it's you again!" and gave her not just one, but TWO besos! Of course, Mimi kinda got kilig. (Don't deny it, Mim! Hehe.) Tongue out

4 Ms: Mimi, Max, Marla, and Macy

***

Oh, and can you guess whose drawer this is? Among the Candy team, who do you think is OC enough to organize paper clips by color? Wink

Big hugs,

Marla

I am so happy with this issue, Candy girls! What a great way to start the week :) When I got in, Shar told me that the October issue was here! I love the colors and of course pretty Rhian on our cover :)

This is our Real Girls special for the year and it's packed with real girls! :) And with fashion and makeup tips for real girls. Plus we have a feature on girls with different religions (remember that article Angel was asking for help with?), we also have an article on good guys—enough of those bad ones who break your heart, and one on teen achievers who we dared to overcome what they felt were their shortcomings!

Can't wait for it to go on the stands — and to know what you think!

Plus, it's time to welcome the newest Council of Cool! :)

Have a blast reading this gorgeous, ultra-packed issue!

Mwah!

Love, Ines

PS. The Candy team is going to be promoting the fair on the radio — listen for us at these times (if you aren't in school, of course!):

Sept 26 (Tue), 4pm - Jam 88.3

Sept 27 (Wed), 4pm - NU 107

Sept 27 (Wed), 8pm - RX 93.1

Sept 28 (Thu), 130pm - Magic 89.9

Sept 28 (Thu), 4pm - 99.5 RT

Sept 29 (Fri), 4pm - Wave 89.1

PPS. Jessan, here's your answer! I couldn't find your email address so I'm posting instead ;)

Hanging out with D’ Sound and Hale

Friday, September 22nd, 2006

Yesterday was a busy day once again 'cause I went to two press cons with Marla and Pia from the Council. (That's why I was too tired to post by the time I got back to the office. Waaah! Glurps)

Now that I'm feeling refreshed again (after having my Quickly fix, of course), let me share about the fun day we had! :D First stop was Universal Records for the press con of D' Sound. This cool band from Norway popularized hits like "Tatooed on my Mind" and "Do I need a Reason?" (Some of my super fave songs!) They were so friendly and a pleasure to talk to. When I asked them, "What are the most interesting places you've visited around the world?" They answered—The Philippines! Kim said, "I'm not trying to kiss up but it's true! We've made a lot of good friends here." Aaaw! How sweet is that? Simone said she's been to Boracay twice and Jonny added that they really love being here. :) After the press con, they signed our copies of their newest album, My Today. Be sure to grab a copy, guys! I'm listening to it right now and I luuuurve it! ;)

Thanks, Marla, for taking this picture of me while asking for an autograph! :D

After D' Sound, Marla, Pia, and I trooped to EMI Records for the press con of Hale. They're launching their second album, Twilight. I was thrilled that Champ still remembered me! (Well, he should, after all, we met several times at different shoots and press cons already! Haha!) I remember my very first press con when I started working in Candy—it was when Hale launched their first album, also at EMI records! I was with Mimi then. Aaw, memories! Champ actually asked us where Mimi was. (Yihee, Mim!) In our excitement, we forgot to take a picture. (Grr!) But it's okay, 'cause I'm sure we'll meet the band again soon! Be sure to grab a copy of Twilight when it hits stores in September 30! :D
