Hi Candy girls!

It’s been about two months since I started work here in Candy as the new webmaster/web editor (I’m not sure if there’s a difference!).  And just this week, I transferred over to the Candy corner here in the office.  My cubicle is still pretty bare - which Ines noticed this morning.  I’ll get around to putting my own personal touch to this area soon.  I’m excited! I’ve never really had my own office space `til I started working here. d:

I’ve had a fantastic experience so far!  The girls here in Candy are wonderful. (:  And I’m so happy everyone’s been posting religiously here.  Haha!

Angel and I did some major bonding last weekend when we went to Sumilon, Cebu FOR FREE with a couple of our officemates. (Definitely one of the perks of working for a magazine!) It was a fun-filled trip! I finally got a tan (thank God!), but it really looks weird because I have box-like prints on my back!!! I hope they fade away, but I hope I can keep the tan for a few more weeks.

The day after we got back, I had to wake up early for a whole day celebrity shoot (can’t tell you who it is yet, but I have to say he’s the cutest, most talented 13-year-old boy I’ve ever met!) then assign articles for our next issue. SO TIRING! Yesterday though, Ines, Angel, and I got to watch Disney Channel’s original movie, High School Musical! It’ll be airing in June pa, but I hope you girls get to watch it ’cause it’s SOO cute and fun. It’s Grease for tweens. Plus, the lead is such a cutie who looks like a young Jared Leto!

We’re all a little sad today ’cause it’ll be our art director Mel’s LAST DAY at work. WAAAH! She’ll be leaving to follow her sister abroad and to hopefully work there. We shall miss you terribly Mel! Sad thing is I won’t be able to hang out with Mel so much today. I’ll be leaving early because I’ve got an overnight thing at Discovery Suites with a few WITCH girls. (In case you didn’t know, I take care of WITCH magazine as well.) It’s been a longtime since I’ve had a slumber party, and I’m pretty psyched about this one. I’m excited to exchange kilig stories, eat popcorn, play Twister, and have a movie marathon!

I am so behind! Now that I’ve moved houses, I have yet to get cable — so my friend Mitch lent me her DVDs of The Newlyweds — Jess and Nick. And as I watch them, I feel so bad because it’s as if I know something they didn’t when they were being filmed! And it depresses me that they aren’t together anymore because in the show, they keep trying to work things out. Of course now that I know they’re getting a divorce (or are they divorced already?), all their fights and disagreements seem even bigger! All Jessica’s goofs are insignificant in comparison — even the tuna or chicken comment and the "but my boob gets in the way" comment when she was trying to swing a golf club aren’t as funny anymore. And when Nick said, "I have a five year plan to rid her of her spoiledness" — uh, I don’t think that’s going to happen anymore. Maybe I should watch something else. What are you planning to watch this summer?

The heat is just so oppressive! Every step I take in the heat is torture! AGH.  It was so hot yesterday that I had a hard time breathing! Can you believe it? Plus, i didn’t put an ounce of makeup. I didn’t even curl my lashes. Shee. But I’m being a bad example. Don’t neglect your beauty duties just because of the heat! At the very least apply lip balm and curl lashes. Sigh. Ok, I’m feeling hot just writing this. Til next time!

Good news girls! Last Thursday, March 23, I attended the branch opening of one of my favorite stores, Zara. It’s their second! (first one is in Powerplant Mall, Makati) This Spanish brand is known all over the world for its very stylish clothing at a more affordable price. Guests were treated to a super stylish fashion s how featuring the latest in Zara’s Spring Summer 2006 collection. Want to know what the trends are? Here’s a rundown:

1. Nautical - think blue and white blazers and striped shirts. Zara has super comfortable striped shirts at only P495 (GREAT BUY!!). Also look for rope details on belts, bags and shoes.

2. White - This summer, crisp whites rule! Wear white bermuda shorts over a colorful top and replace your denim jackets with a nice white blazer.

3. Kelly Green - another strong color for the season is kelly green. It’s a bright shade of green similar to the color of a leaf. There is a section in Zara with clothes in this color.

4. Flats - Say goodbye to high heels and wear pretty flats for day and even for night. Bejeweled ones are a must-wear.

5. Gold jewelry - Gold chain-link jewelry worn together with this season’s whites make you look glam even in the morning.
