On the Set of Sugo
Wednesday, November 30th, 2005Hey, Guys!
Have you all gotten enough of your favorite celebs in our superb November ish? Let us know what you think! Anyway, I know I promised you more inside scoop on my behind-the-scenes Sugo article but our server was down so I haven’t been able to upload the pics. Well, better late then never right? I won’t keep you waiting any longer. I’ll let the pictures tell all!
Mimi: "Richard, look! It’s your co-star Isabel Oli on the cover of Candy!"
We wonder who Richard’s talking to…
The dashing Richard’s got Mimi and I completely hypnotized!
Looks like these bad guys aren’t so scary after all!
Think I can be a director? Scene 28, Take 1… ACTION!!!
Watch out, Amante and Rebecca! These guys are out to get you! P.S. Be sure to grab a copy of our December ish! Everything inside, and even on the cover, is a request granted! You’ll also be able to read about amazing real girls who are just like you! We can’t wait for you to let us know what you think. Richard (as Amante) fires back with shots of his own!
Looks like Amy Austria is ready to hit someone with that metal tool!
Here’s a pic of me and Chynna, who plays Rebecca on the show.
A close up shot for all you Richard fans out there!

Starstruck!
Thursday, November 10th, 2005Hey, Candy girls!
So sorry we haven’t posted for a while. We’ve all been so busy relaxing over the short break (yipee!) then trying to catch up and meet our deadlines (yikes!). By this time, I’m sure you’ve seen or read through the newest Candy issue: our star-studded CELEBRITIES issue with hottie Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe on the cover.
Can I just share something? Ines and I are watching the premiere of The Goblet of Fire on Saturday, and I just can’t wait to see it!!! I loved the third book more than the fourth (and I haven’t even finished reading the fifth yet!), but I’m excited to see how the new characters—like Cedric and Cho—will be introduced into the story. Speaking of new characters, we’re introducing a brand new batch of rising stars all set to invade your hearts! (Robert Pattinson and Katie Leung who play Cedric and Cho are included in this hot list.)
The thing I love most about making an issue like this is meeting celebrities (no surprise!) and seeing how they REALLY are when the cameras aren’t rolling. Though it may be hard to believe, some of them are the most down-to-earth creatures you’ll ever meet in this lifetime! Take Encantadia star Karylle, for example. I talked to her on the phone because of a Candy assignment I did way back and we ended up being friends! I asked her to interview one of her idols (who turned out to be Kitchie Nadal), and she was sooooo excited about it.
On the day of the interview, I had to make a mad dash from the Sugo behind-the-scenes shoot (which Angel will write about soon!) to crash Kitchie’s music video shoot. I sat in while Karylle was "interviewing" Kitchie and noticed they were chatting like old friends—which is good because when you’re interviewing someone, you want a create an instant bond so that they’ll open up to you quickly.
Karylle is really a fan of Kitchie. She even bought a CD and brought it so that Kitchie could sign it! Here she is showing it off while Kitchie’s manager looks on.
Aside from hanging out with Karylle and Kitchie and the Sugo cast, we had a sack race with the very cool Orange & Lemons (sing with me now, "Pinoy ako, Pinoy tayo…"), hung out with other hot bands (Good Charlotte, Cueshé, and Mojofly), raided Danica Sotto, Nikki Gil, Julie Lee, Nicole Andersson, and Kat Alano’s closet, and also burned the phone lines with Phil of the Future cutie, Ricky Ullman! I remember waking up at an ungodly hour just so that Angel and I could be at the designated place on time. Funny thing was we super got lost in Makati! I swear, I’m super clueless when it comes to that area.
Hope this issue leaves you starry-eyed, MWAH!
Mimi
P.S.: Did you get to watch the short-lived but quirky Wonderfalls (it was shown on Star World)? I super loved it and I’m totally in denial that it’s over. Waaah!
Ines, Mia, and I were hooked on that TV series and I even convinced Angel to watch it too! If you saw it, don’t you agree that the guy who plays Eric sort of looks like Michael Vartan?! Sigh, what a cutie…
