Tweak your diet with these household staples.
ART Naomi Torrecampo

Have you ever had those days when your skin just doesn't want to cooperate with you? Bad skin days are surefire mood and confidence ruiners. The good news is you don't have to break the bank to achieve healthy, glowing skin because you can just eat your way to it! So tweak your diet and include these skin-loving foods—all of which are household staples too!

Tomatoes

Tomatoes aren't just a lovely addition to your pastas and other dishes, they are a good source of lycopene, an antioxidant that helps your skin protect itself from the harmful effects of the sun, too. Awesome, right? We know how harmful UV rays are to the skin, which is why in a tropical country like the Philippines, eating tomatoes is a good way to boost your skin's natural sun defenses.

Eggs

Do you suffer from dry skin? Then chow down on some healthy eggs! Eggs aren't just a great source of protein, they contain a vitamin called biotin that helps prevent dry skin, too. Now, you've got another reason to enjoy the most important meal of the day, Candy Girls!

Dark Chocolate

Another great source of antioxidants, this delicious and decadent treat helps with skin hydration and blood circulation. Not a fan of the chocolate bar? Try genuine hot cocoa instead! Who knew getting smoother skin can be so fun and delicious?

Carrots

A carrot a day makes the breakouts go away! Rich in vitamins A and C, this skin superfood helps prevent and battle numerous skin dilemmas such as blemishes, scarring, wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and aging! A multipurpose food, carrots are also great for your eyesight.

Sardines

You probably know how sardines are a staple in the Filipino household, but did you know that these are good sources of fat as well? Fatty fish help combat inflammation and keep your skin hydrated to prevent acne breakouts.

What other superfoods do you chow down on?
