Why Washing the Face with Oil Is Great for Oily Skin
Don't be scared of oils!
ART Clare Magno

We've been told that oil should never touch oily skin because it will only make the face look greasier and more acne-prone. But in reality, your oily skin might be more manageable when you do the oil cleansing method.

Some commercially available cleansers strip away the skin's natural oils, making oily skin produce more oil. With the oil cleansing method, the oil-moisture balance is maintained, creating a blemish-free and youthful complexion. Also, since your cleanser is oil-based, it attracts oil-based dirt (excess oil, that may cause blackheads, whiteheads, and pimples) and makeup. Your skin is purified without getting dried out.

So, how do you go about it? Simply take a plant-based oil popular ones are castor, hazelnut, extra virgin olive, coconut, avocado, and jojoba massage onto dry skin until makeup and dirt are dissolved. Then, run warm water on a washcloth. Press this onto the skin and gently wipe off the the grime. Repeat the steps until you are sure that there are no traces of oil and dirt on your face anymore.

You can also use cleansing oils made by beauty brandsâthese ones don't need warm water to wash of, and they've got other good-for-the-skin ingredients. Massage, rinse, and wipe off with a clean face towel.
