Wear sunscreen. Whether you're going to the beach or to school, make it a habit to wear sunblock (especially on your face!) daily. Even if it seems like it's going to be a gloomy day, the sun's rays can still penetrate through the clouds. You'll be grateful years from now when your skin hasn't been ruined by sun damage. Moisturize. Look for a product that's made for your skin (is it dry, oil, combination?). Make it a habit to apply moisturizer every day. If you want to use it as a primer, you can opt to use tinted moisturizer.

Deep condition at least once a week. Our hair tends to get dry after all the abuse from brushing, heat, and styling. Set aside one day to deep condition your hair. You can do this in the shower. Shampoo your hair as you usually do and then apply a deep conditioning product concentrating on the ends of your hair. Leave it on while you bathe and rinse after. Your locks will be shiny and healthy after!

The perfect flush. To find out if your product is the right shade for you, slightly pinch your cheeks to get your natural shade of blush. Pick a product that's close to that color. Remember to put just enough so you'll won't look like a clown!

Keep yourself hydrated. It might sound like a lot of water, but if you drink 2 glasses of water with every meal (including merienda), you'll be sure that you've had 8 glasses in a day! This will keep your skin from drying out. :)

Keep a lip balm in your kikay kit. Re-apply during the day to keep your lips smooth and not chapped. If you want a bit of color, go for a tinted lip balm. Med Protection Lip Balm, Nivea

Curl your hair. There are lots of ways to do it: with a curling iron, a flat iron, and even just by braiding your hair! Try making your own texturizing spray (it'll keep the curls in place): mix 1 teaspoon of sea salt with 8 ounces of water, about half a teaspoon of conditioner, and just a dollop of unscented hair gel. Pour it into an atomizer, shake, and spray away. Hello, beach waves!

Braid it. You don't need to braid all of your hair. Whether your hair is short or long, you can try this look! Part your hair the way you normally do. Take a section of your hair and divide into 3 sections. Cross the left section over the middle in between the middle and right section. Then cross the right section over the middle (what was previously the left section) in between the middle and left section. Just repeat the process until you reach the end of the braid. Secure with an elastic or hair tie in your hair color.

Wear glitter over your polish. It might not seem like a huge difference but if you layer polishes in the same color palette, the result is fabulous nail bling!

Go for a smokey eye. Don't be afraid to experiment! Going out dancing with your girl friends? Try a smokey eye by following this tutorial by Lauren Young. While you're still learning go for subtle colors like the earth tones used on blogger Laureen Uy. Then try bright colors when you get the hang of it! Wear winged liner. If you already know how to put eyeliner on, why not take it to the next level? Create a dramatic look just by flicking your wrist upwards when you reach the end of your lash line. You can extend the "wing" as far (and as thick) as you want.

Use white eyeliner. If you've got small eyes, you can line your lower lash line to give the illusion of bigger eyes. You can also use it to line the inner corner of your eyes.

Wear your hair up. Or down. If you tend to be in a ponytail on most days, try leaving your hair down. You'll be surprised at how many people will compliment you on your "new look."

Customize your own lip color. You can layer your gloss on lipstick to achieve a different shape. Or if you're feeling adventurous, you can get tubes of your lipstick that you've almost used up and empty them into small containers. Combine different shades to create your very own lippie shade! Change your part. It might not seem like a drastic difference, but changing your part can alter your look completely. If you usually part your hair on the side, moving it to the middle can make your hair look fuller (it won't fall flat), and vice versa. Try it!

Use your lippie as cheek tint. Looking for a way to maximize your kikay kit? Some products can have more than one purpose, like your lipstick! Dab your fingers on the lipstick to pick up some pigment then lightly blend on your cheeks. The result: a rosy, dewy almost natural flush.

Keep your hair away from your face. If you've got bangs, you can use cute pins to keep them in place. Keeping your hair away from your face lessens the chance of skin irritation that eventually leads to acne.

Wear falsies. But if you aren't confident enough to put them on by yourself, try a mascara that aims to do the same: create lush lashes. The Falsies Volum'Express, Maybelline.

Do your own manicure. Manis can cost up to P500 is you're going to a posh nail spa. But if you invest in a few items (a buffer, an orange stick, and your favorite shade of polish), you can actually do your own manicure at home! Follow these steps and emerge with pretty tips and a happy wallet.
