  1. The Beguiled (September 6)

Adapted from Thomas Cullinan's novel and a reinterpretation of the 1971 film about a wounded soldier who takes refuge in an all-girls boarding school, The Beguiled is told from the perspective of the girls. "They get up, work in the garden, pray, play music, study French, eat supper, and then it's bedtime. Everything is shaken up when they take in a wounded soldier and selfishness sets in," says Elle Fanning, who stars in the movie with Kirsten Dunst, Nicole Kidman, and Colin Farrell. This must-watch, slow-boiling thriller won Sofia Coppola Best Director at the recent Cannes Film Festival, the first time a woman was awarded the prize in 56 years (!!!).

  1. It (September 7)

Can't wait for Strangers Things season two? Watch Finn Wolfhard a.k.a. Mike Wheeler in another horror thriller about a group of misfits battling a scary monster in a small town in It. This time, the monster is Pennywise, a freaky clown who is up to no good, and the story is based on Stephen King's iconic novel. Finn says, "I shot it directly after Stranger Things. It was similar but different... It was like going to college, and a bigger budget kind of thing. It was one of the best experiences I've ever had in my life."

  1. American Made (September 13)

There's a fine line between doing good and doing the opposite, and in this movie, one pilot (Tom Cruise) hops from one side to another, even straddling that line, after being recruited by the CIA and getting caught up in the sketchy side of things. Is he a smuggler or an informant? A hustler or a patriot? Depends on who you ask.

  1. Kingsman: The Golden Circle (September 20)

How on earth do you improve the masterpiece that was Kingsman: The Secret Service? By bringing back super spies Taron Egerton and Colin Firth (yep, he's alive!) and having them team up with their American counterparts, which just happens to include the one and only Channing Tatum.

  1. Mother! (September 20)

From Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky comes another mind-bending thriller starring our girl Jennifer Lawrence. Here, she portrays the titular Mother who wishes she never opened the door to a man (played by Ed Harris) and woman (Michelle Pfeiffer) who invited themselves into the home she shares with Him (Javier Bardem). (Rude!) Making the film was so intense that the crew created a happy place on set for J-Law, with Keeping Up with the Kardashians on loop and pictures of the famous family all over the tent!

  1. The LEGO Ninjago Movie (September 27)

When you're the hero of the story and the evil warlord you need to beat is your dad, things can get pretty complicated. Good thing the hero in this story, Master Builder Lloyd, is a secret ninja who hangs with fellow secret ninjas. Together, they embark on a quest to defeat Garmadon a.k.a. The Worst Guy Ever a.k.a. Dad.

  1. Fangirl Fanboy (this month)

A fangirl (Ella Cruz) lives out her wildest dreams when she gets the opportunity to work with her one true love (Julian Trono) and help him become a better actor. She soon learns that even the brightest stars who seem so unattainable are just human beings, too, who make mistakes and (hopefully) learn from them.
